GDA Demolishes 6000 sq.m. Illegal Colony in Duhai, Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) carried out a major demolition drive against an illegal colony spread over nearly 6,000 square meters in the Duhai area of Ghaziabad. Using bulldozers, the authority demolished unauthorized infrastructure, including internal roads, boundary walls, and a site office.
The action was conducted near Mini MIG B Block in Duhai-Madhuban Bapudham as part of GDA’s ongoing campaign against illegal colonies and unauthorized construction. The move is significant as it reinforces the authority’s efforts to curb unlawful developments and protect prospective homebuyers from investing in unapproved projects.
The demolition targeted unauthorized development allegedly being carried out by Sanjeev Chaudhary on Khasra numbers 471 and 475 in Duhai. The operation was executed by GDA’s Enforcement Zone-3 team under the supervision of the Special Executive Officer and Enforcement Zone-3 in-charge.
During the drive, some local builders protested against the action, prompting heavy police deployment to maintain law and order. Despite the resistance, the demolition was completed without disruption in the presence of enforcement officials, engineers, and police personnel.
According to GDA officials, the demolition was carried out under the directions of Vice President Nand Kishore Kalaal as part of the authority’s ongoing crackdown on illegal construction across Ghaziabad. Officials said the campaign will continue in different parts of the city, with unauthorized colonies being identified for demolition or sealing wherever violations are found.
The latest action sends a strong message to illegal developers and highlights GDA’s stricter enforcement against unauthorized residential projects. The authority also advised prospective buyers to verify land ownership records, layout approvals, and other legal clearances before purchasing plots or starting construction, warning that investing in illegal colonies could lead to financial losses if such developments face demolition.
GDA has announced that its anti-encroachment and anti-illegal construction drive will continue in the coming months. The authority plans to identify more unauthorized colonies across Ghaziabad and take necessary enforcement measures, including demolition and sealing of illegal structures. Residents and investors have been urged to check all approvals with the concerned authority before making any property-related decisions.
