Greater Noida: Staff members at Mahagun Mywoods Society in Greater Noida West have reportedly gone on strike over delayed salary payments. According to the concerns raised by residents, several employees, including security guards and other maintenance staff, have not received their salaries for the past two to three months.

The situation has prompted residents to come forward in support of the employees and question the society management over the pending payments.

Residents have expressed disappointment over the situation, pointing out that they regularly pay their monthly maintenance charges but the staff responsible for maintaining the society are still struggling to receive their salaries on time. They have questioned why salary payments remain pending despite residents fulfilling their maintenance payment obligations.

The residents have also raised questions about the Mahagun Group’s management and its Board Director, Amit Jain. According to residents, while the group continues to develop new projects, the existing society is facing difficulties in making timely salary payments to its ground-level workforce. They believe that the management should prioritise the proper functioning and maintenance of existing projects alongside its new developments.

Residents further stated that such salary-related protests have become a recurring issue in the society. They claimed that strikes take place almost every month, following which management assures employees that salaries will be paid on time in the future. However, according to residents, these assurances have repeatedly failed to resolve the problem, with salary delays continuing.

The ongoing strike has also started affecting the daily lives of residents. With housekeeping and maintenance activities disrupted, cleanliness in common areas has deteriorated. Residents have complained about dirty lifts, inadequate cleaning and having to clean the areas outside their own flats themselves. The situation has created additional inconvenience for families living in the society.

Residents have emphasised that the issue is not limited to employees’ pending salaries but also concerns the overall maintenance and management of the society. They have called for timely salary payments, better accountability and a permanent solution so that employees do not have to repeatedly resort to strikes to demand their dues.

The residents’ support for the protesting staff has brought attention to a larger question about maintenance fund management and the responsibility of developers and society management towards the people who keep residential complexes operational.

Note: The salary delays, repeated strikes and management-related concerns mentioned above are based on the accounts shared by residents. The management’s response has not been included.
