- The range offers water-resistant, fire-resistant and antimicrobial properties.

Greenply Industries has launched a new laminate wood flooring range featuring High-Density Moisture Resistant (HDMR) core technology, bringing a new product proposition to India’s interior flooring market. Positioned in the mid-premium to premium segment, the company describes it as India’s first HDMR-core laminate flooring, developed to address moisture-related concerns associated with conventional laminate flooring.
The newly introduced flooring range combines wood-inspired aesthetics with features aimed at improving everyday usability. It is designed for Indian homes and commercial interiors, where changing weather conditions, humidity, accidental spills and regular floor cleaning can affect flooring performance. The collection also focuses on convenient installation, low maintenance and a variety of designs suited to contemporary interior styles.
According to Sanidhya Mittal, Joint Managing Director of Greenply Industries, the launch responds to the growing preference for wood-inspired interiors among Indian consumers. He highlighted that attractive flooring designs must also offer practical performance, particularly in a country where moisture can be a concern. The company believes its HDMR-core technology can help bring together contemporary aesthetics and improved moisture resistance.
Wooden and wood-look flooring has become increasingly popular in modern residential and commercial interiors because of its natural appearance and ability to complement different design styles. However, moisture exposure remains a significant concern, particularly in Indian climatic conditions.
The product information highlights moisture as a major factor behind wooden flooring damage in India, accounting for approximately 55% of reported damage. Other contributing factors include improper installation, inadequate subfloor preparation, excessive wet mopping, harsh cleaning products, physical impact and termite-related deterioration.
Greenply’s new flooring range uses an engineered HDMR core designed to improve resistance to moisture. The company aims to provide consumers with an alternative that retains the visual appeal of wood while addressing some of the practical challenges associated with traditional flooring materials.
The product has been designed with varying Indian weather conditions in mind, including humidity, seasonal rainfall and temperature fluctuations.
Apart from its moisture-resistant core, the new flooring range includes several features intended to make everyday use more convenient.
The collection offers water-resistant and fire-resistant properties, along with antimicrobial and antibacterial features. Its easy-to-clean surface is designed to reduce routine maintenance requirements, particularly in households dealing with dust, accidental spills and frequent cleaning.
The flooring is also positioned as a pet-friendly option, making it suitable for households with pets, subject to the manufacturer’s usage guidelines.
Another notable feature is its installation process. According to Greenply, an area of approximately 1,000 sq. ft. can be covered in six to seven hours, depending on site conditions. The installation does not require adhesive or curing time, which can help reduce the time needed to complete flooring work.
The Greenply collection offers several wood-inspired finishes intended to complement different interior themes.
Available designs include different oak variations, lighter Nordic-inspired shades and darker wood finishes. The range also features open-grain textures and different cutting patterns to create a more natural wood-like appearance.
Customers and interior designers can choose from multiple flooring formats, including:
- Classic Plank: Suitable for traditional and contemporary interior layouts.
- Long Plank: Designed to create a spacious and continuous visual appearance.
- Herringbone: Offers a distinctive patterned finish for statement interiors.
The flooring is available in abrasion resistance grades ranging from AC-3 to AC-5, with thickness options between 8 mm and 12 mm. These variations allow buyers to select products according to their intended usage and durability requirements.
The new flooring range also features a floating-floor installation system. This approach allows the flooring to be dismantled and reinstalled, subject to installation conditions and the company’s product guidelines.
Greenply is offering residential warranty coverage ranging from 10 years to a lifetime, depending on the selected product grade. The AC-5 range comes with a lifetime residential warranty against specified issues, including stains, fading, wear and tear.
The warranty offering reflects the company’s focus on product durability and long-term value. However, actual coverage remains subject to the applicable warranty terms and conditions.
With this launch, Greenply is looking to expand its presence in the laminate flooring segment by offering an alternative that combines design flexibility with practical performance features.
The product range is intended for residential properties as well as commercial spaces, hospitality projects and HORECA establishments, including hotels, restaurants and cafés.
For homeowners, the collection offers additional choices for creating wood-inspired interiors without opting for conventional wooden flooring. Architects and interior designers may also find the different finishes, thicknesses and installation formats useful when planning projects with specific design and performance requirements.
The launch also reflects the broader shift towards engineered interior materials that combine appearance, durability and ease of maintenance. As demand for contemporary flooring solutions grows, moisture-resistant laminate products could become an additional option in India’s evolving interior infrastructure market.
