Chandigarh/Amritsar: Former cricketer and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu has taken a significant personal step by distributing his properties between his two children during his lifetime, highlighting a mix of emotional connection and thoughtful legacy planning.
The announcement was shared through social media, where Sidhu posted photographs and a heartfelt message explaining his decision. He stated that both homes represent different phases of his life and achievements, making the gesture deeply meaningful.
As part of the division, his luxury residence in Amritsar has been transferred to his daughter, Rabia Sidhu, while his ancestral house in Patiala has been handed over to his son, Karan Sidhu.
Sidhu described these properties as blessings earned through years of hard work across his career—from cricket to television and public life. In his message, he expressed gratitude and shared that he is simply passing forward what he believes was given to him through divine blessings.
The Amritsar residence, known for its grandeur, is spread over more than 49,500 square feet in a prime locality. Built between 2014 and 2015 at an estimated cost of around Rs 25 crore, the property stands out for both luxury and spiritual elements.
The house features high-end amenities such as a swimming pool, gym, spa, and a dedicated Shiva temple, blending modern lifestyle with traditional values. The property is also landscaped with trees sourced from different parts of India, adding to its uniqueness.
One of its most notable highlights is a Shivalinga imported from Singapore, reportedly worth around Rs 2.5 crore, installed in 2014. The home also houses multiple idols and includes a dedicated space for the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, reflecting the family’s strong spiritual practices.
Sidhu also reflected on his professional journey, noting that earnings from cricket, commentary, television shows, and appearances on platforms like Bigg Boss and The Kapil Sharma Show contributed to building this iconic residence.
Sidhu’s decision offers an example of early property planning, ensuring clarity in inheritance while avoiding future disputes. It also highlights how high-value real estate assets can carry emotional and cultural significance beyond financial worth.
