Supertech Eco Village-1 Residents Hold Candle March Against 40% Maintenance Fee Hike

• Residents have been protesting against the maintenance hike for seven days.

Greater Noida: Residents of Supertech Eco Village-1 in Greater Noida West held a candle march on Saturday to oppose an increase in common area maintenance charges. The protest comes after residents alleged that the maintenance fee was raised by around 40% without their approval. Homeowners have been raising concerns over the quality of maintenance services and are demanding that the increased charges be withdrawn.

The dispute has continued for several days, with residents saying they have been protesting for the past seven days. According to the homeowners, maintenance services at the society are being managed by YG Facility Agency, but residents remain unhappy with cleanliness, upkeep and other facilities. They allege that the higher charges do not match the services being provided.

Residents said they have already approached several authorities regarding the issue. Written complaints have reportedly been submitted to the District Magistrate, Noida Authority, RERA and the Apex Court Committee, among other concerned bodies. However, residents claim that their complaints have not yet resulted in a permanent resolution.

According to the residents, the Apex Court Committee issued a notice to YG Facility management on June 23, 2026, directing the agency to stop collecting the increased maintenance charges. The protesters, however, allege that the revised charges have not yet been withdrawn.

The residents’ concerns extend beyond the increase in monthly maintenance payments. Homeowners have also raised questions about the overall functioning of the maintenance agency and the facilities available inside the society.

Residents including Sanjay Sharma and Shashi Bhushan said they want greater transparency in the maintenance system and accountability from the agency responsible for managing common areas. They also want the quality of services to improve before any increase in charges is considered.

The candle march was organised as part of the ongoing peaceful protest. Women, senior citizens, young residents and other homeowners participated in the demonstration.

Residents said their protest is not simply about the additional financial burden caused by the maintenance fee hike. They are also seeking transparency in maintenance-related decisions, better services and protection of homeowners’ rights.

Residents have said they will continue their peaceful sit-in and other forms of protest until the increased maintenance charges are withdrawn. The homeowners are also seeking a clear resolution from the concerned authorities and maintenance agency.

For now, the dispute remains focused on the revised maintenance charges, the quality of services being provided and the residents’ demand for a transparent and accountable maintenance system at Supertech Eco Village-1.
