Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to launch its much-awaited Naimishnagar and Varun Vihar housing schemes on September 14. The two projects will offer residential plots at an expected rate of up to ₹2,800 per square foot and are being positioned as major additions to Lucknow’s planned residential development.
Naimishnagar will be developed along Sitapur Road, while Varun Vihar is planned along the Agra Expressway. The LDA expects the projects to cater to the housing requirements of a large population, with the combined developments likely to benefit more than four lakh residents. Both schemes have also completed their registration process with RERA, allowing the authority to move ahead with the planned launch and subsequent plot allotment process.
LDA Vice President Prathamesh Kumar said preparations for the September 14 launch are underway. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to formally inaugurate and dedicate both housing schemes to the public.
The launch will mark the beginning of the next phase, after which the LDA will proceed with the sale and allotment of residential plots under the two schemes.
The projects were initially scheduled to be launched on June 30, but the programme was postponed following the June 22 fire incident at an illegal building in Aliganj. The LDA has since resumed preparations and fixed September 14 as the new launch date.
The location of both projects could make them significant for buyers looking for plotted development outside Lucknow’s more established residential pockets. Sitapur Road and the Agra Expressway have emerged as important growth corridors, supported by expanding connectivity and ongoing urban development.
The expected pricing of around ₹2,800 per square foot could also attract buyers seeking residential plots through an authority-backed housing scheme. However, prospective applicants should check the final plot rates, sizes, eligibility criteria, payment schedule and allotment conditions once the LDA releases the official details.
Following the September 14 inauguration, the LDA is expected to begin the residential plot sale and allotment process for Naimishnagar and Varun Vihar. Buyers should rely on official LDA and RERA information for registration dates, plot availability, pricing and application requirements.
