  • The district administration has forwarded residents’ grievances to the Noida Authority for necessary action.

Noida: The Gautam Budh Nagar district administration has taken up the complaints of residents of Jaypee Wish Town in Sector 134, Noida, with the Noida Authority following nearly two weeks of protests over maintenance-related problems and building safety concerns.

The intervention gained urgency after a portion of concrete and plaster reportedly fell from a residential tower at Jaypee Klassic on November 3, striking a school van parked near the society entrance.

The incident occurred when the van had arrived to pick up schoolchildren. Although no injuries were reported, residents expressed concern about the condition of building exteriors and the possibility of a more serious accident. The development has brought renewed attention to longstanding complaints about incomplete repairs, maintenance services and accountability within the township.

Following the incident, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sadar Ashutosh Gupta visited the protest site on November 3, accompanied by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector 135 police station. Residents subsequently approached the Noida Authority’s Additional Chief Executive Officer with a written representation seeking intervention and action on their pending grievances.

The incident at Jaypee Klassic has become a major concern for residents, particularly those worried about the safety of children, pedestrians and people moving around residential towers.

Manoj Jha, a resident of the society, said the falling plaster highlighted the deteriorating condition of external building structures. He pointed out that although nobody was injured in the incident, falling concrete or plaster could cause serious injuries if it struck a resident or passerby.

Residents have also raised concerns about incomplete repair work and the lack of adequate maintenance of building exteriors. They are seeking a comprehensive structural safety assessment to identify potential risks and ensure that necessary repairs are completed.

According to SDM Sadar Ashutosh Gupta, the district administration has communicated the residents’ concerns to the Noida Authority and requested that the issues be addressed in accordance with applicable rules.

The administration’s intervention followed a series of complaints submitted by residents during their ongoing protest. Their representation covers several matters, including building safety, maintenance services, proposed changes in Shared Area Maintenance (SAM) charges and delays in issuing transfer-related No Objection Certificates (NOCs).

The Noida Authority has also reportedly issued directions to the builder regarding some of the concerns raised by residents.

The protest at Jaypee Wish Town began on October 23, with residents, including women and senior citizens, demanding action on multiple maintenance-related issues.

According to Brijesh Singh, president of the Kosmos Apartment Owners’ Association (AOA), two significant concerns involving the proposed increase in SAM charges and transfer-related NOCs have been taken up following the Authority’s intervention.

However, residents maintain that several other issues, particularly building safety and pending repair work, remain unresolved.

Singh said the falling plaster incident had further increased residents’ concerns. The association is seeking accountability from the builder and a time-bound action plan to address the outstanding problems. It has also urged the builder to implement the Noida Authority’s directions properly.

Apart from approaching the district administration and Noida Authority, residents have also submitted a complaint at the Sector 135 police station following the November 3 incident at Tower Klassic-01.

Their demands include registration of an FIR, a structural safety audit of the affected tower and preservation of CCTV footage related to the incident.

These requests are aimed at establishing the circumstances surrounding the falling plaster and assessing whether any negligence or maintenance failures contributed to the incident.

Meanwhile, attempts to obtain a response from Suraksha Realty Limited’s CEO regarding the residents’ complaints did not receive a reply before the report was filed.

The scale of the township makes the ongoing concerns significant for a large residential population. According to the Apartment Owners’ Association, Jaypee Wish Town in Sector 134 has an estimated population of approximately 20,000 families.

Residents are now looking for concrete action from the Noida Authority and the developer rather than assurances alone. The key demands include completing pending maintenance work, addressing building safety risks, resolving transfer-related issues and ensuring transparency in maintenance charges.

The next steps will depend on how the Noida Authority and the builder respond to the complaints and implement the directions already issued. Residents are also seeking a clear timeline for the structural safety assessment and necessary repairs to prevent similar incidents in the future.

For now, the administration’s intervention has brought the residents’ grievances to the Authority’s attention, but a lasting resolution will depend on action at the ground level.
