- The deal involved around ₹4.20 crore in stamp duty and ₹90,000 in registration fees.
Sachin Tendulkar has purchased a 3.86-acre land parcel in Lonavala, Maharashtra, for around ₹70 crore, adding another high-value property to his real estate holdings. The transactions were registered on September 4, 2026, according to property registration data accessed by Zapkey.
The three deals collectively cover 15,601.78 square metres, or roughly 1.68 lakh square feet, across four City Survey numbers in Lonavala’s H ward. The registered consideration was approximately ₹63.69 crore for one transaction, ₹4.56 crore for the second and ₹1.75 crore for the third, taking the combined value to about ₹70 crore.
The documents show that Tendulkar acquired 100% ownership of the largest parcel, measuring about 3.09 acres. For the remaining two properties, he acquired a 50% undivided share in each. The properties were purchased from Nandan Dhananjay Mehta and Vivaswat Dhananjay Mehta.
The transactions also involved significant statutory charges. Around ₹4.20 crore was paid as stamp duty, while the registration fees amounted to approximately ₹90,000.
Lonavala is one of Maharashtra’s best-known weekend destinations and has long attracted affluent buyers looking for large plots, second homes and private retreats. A transaction of this scale by one of India’s most recognised sports personalities also highlights the continued appeal of premium land in established leisure markets near Mumbai and Pune.
Unlike a conventional apartment purchase, acquiring a sizeable land parcel gives the buyer greater flexibility over its future use, subject to local planning, zoning and development regulations.
The registration of the three conveyance deeds completes the reported acquisition and transfers the specified ownership interests to Tendulkar. Any future construction or development on the land would remain subject to applicable local approvals and regulations.
