Noida: Noida Authority has announced that the city’s first dedicated Deer Park is expected to open by December-end at the 75-acre Biodiversity Park in Sector 91. Developed at an estimated cost of ₹40 crore, the project aims to create a wildlife conservation and educational destination while offering residents a new recreational space.
Built according to Central Zoo Authority (CZA) guidelines, the park is expected to strengthen Noida’s green infrastructure and biodiversity efforts.
Spread across nearly 30 acres, the Deer Park will function as a mini-zoo with specially designed enclosures for nine different deer species. Officials said the facility will also include a variety of birds and selected African animals, making it one of the city’s most unique nature-based attractions. Construction of the boundary wall has been completed, while animal enclosures and visitor pathways are currently under development.

Speaking about the project, Anand Mohan Singh, Deputy Director (Horticulture), Noida Authority, said that work on the enclosures has already started. He added that after completing the pathways, the authority will develop visitor facilities such as a reception area, ticket counters, a veterinary clinic, and other essential infrastructure. According to him, the authority is targeting completion of all construction work by December so that the park can be opened to the public before the end of the year.
Officials said the Deer Park will bring together animals from different parts of the country. Deer will be sourced from zoos in Lucknow, Delhi, Assam, Kanpur, and Mysuru, while rescued deer from the Noida International Airport area will also be relocated to the facility.
The authority is additionally planning to introduce African species such as Springbok, Impala, Wildebeest, and Lesser Kudu, subject to the required approvals. The park will feature species including Mouse Deer, Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Blackbuck (Indian Antelope), Spotted Deer, Sambar Deer, and Barking Deer.
Beyond recreation, the project is expected to become an important centre for wildlife conservation, environmental education, and scientific research. Visitors will have access to guided tours, educational displays, workshops, and interactive exhibits designed to increase awareness about biodiversity and habitat protection.
Two retired Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers have been appointed as wildlife planning experts, and the project has already received approval from the Central Zoo Authority. Once construction and final inspections are completed, the Noida Authority will prepare the park for its official opening.
