MP-3 Road Underpass: Noida Authority Orders CRRI Quality Test
The Central Road Research Institute will examine the resurfacing material and road conditions at the MP-3 Road underpass to identify quality issues and improve driving conditions.

Noida: The Noida Authority has appointed the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) to examine the quality of construction material used for resurfacing the MP-3 Road underpass at the intersection of Sectors 51, 52, 71 and 72. The move comes after repeated complaints from motorists and nearby residents about potholes and poor road conditions that have made the underpass difficult to use.
A CRRI technical team inspected the site last week as part of the assessment. The inspection focused on the condition of the mastic asphalt, particularly its adhesion and bonding with the existing underpass surface. Officials are also examining how regular traffic, braking on the slope and acceleration on the incline may be affecting the road. The quality check is important as the underpass serves residents travelling between several residential sectors in the area.
According to Noida Authority officials, the technical evaluation is intended to identify the reasons behind the deterioration of the road surface and determine whether the construction material is performing as expected. AK Arora, General Manager of the Noida Authority, said the inspection is part of ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure and traffic management in the city.
The condition of the underpass has been a concern for motorists and residents of Sectors 70, 71, 72, 73, 74 and 122, among other areas. Residents have complained that potholes and the uneven surface make travelling through the stretch inconvenient, particularly for daily commuters.
Monika Singh, a resident of Sector 73, said residents have raised the issue several times and are now waiting for the authority to take corrective action after the technical inspection is completed.
The CRRI will prepare its technical report after evaluating the test results along with the actual site conditions. The assessment will also consider the stress placed on the road by continuous vehicular movement and driving patterns on the slope.
The Noida Authority is expected to take necessary corrective measures after receiving the final report. According to officials, the objective is to improve the quality and durability of the road surface and provide motorists with a smoother and safer driving experience.
