Noida Authority Approves ₹85-Crore Arch Flyover Between Sectors 148 and 150

Noida Authority approves an ₹85-crore arch flyover across the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to improve cross-expressway connectivity and ease traffic for residents.

  • The proposed flyover will connect Sectors 148 and 150 directly across the expressway.
  • Around two lakh residents and people from nearly 20 nearby villages are expected to benefit.
  • The project comes as rising development in Sector 150 puts additional pressure on existing roads.

Noida: The Noida Authority has approved an ₹85-crore arch flyover between Sectors 148 and 150 across the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. The project is intended to create a direct connection between sectors on either side of the expressway and reduce the need for commuters to rely on existing cuts and interchanges. Preparatory work for the project has already started.

The flyover has been planned at a time when residential development in and around Sector 150, Noida is rapidly increasing. At present, people travelling between Sectors 148, 149, 150, 151, 152 and 153 often have to take longer routes to cross the expressway. This adds to travel time and can lead to congestion, particularly during busy hours.

The existing road network does not provide a seamless crossing between the sectors on both sides of the expressway. As a result, commuters have to use designated cuts or interchanges, sometimes travelling a considerable additional distance before reaching their destination.

The proposed arch flyover is expected to provide a more direct route between Sector 148 and Sector 150, helping vehicles cross the expressway without depending as heavily on existing crossing points. The project is also being planned with future traffic demand in mind as the surrounding area continues to develop.

According to AK Arora, General Manager, Noida Authority, preparations have begun for the proposed flyover. He said the project is aimed at providing direct cross-expressway connectivity between sectors located on both sides of the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.

The project was approved by Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer Krishna Karunesh. Officials said the Authority has now started work related to detailed planning and other construction preparations.

The proposed infrastructure is expected to improve connectivity for around two lakh people living in the affected sectors. Residents of nearly 20 nearby villages are also expected to benefit from better road connectivity.

Sector 150 has developed into a prominent residential area, with several premium high-rise housing projects. As more people move into the sector, traffic volumes on surrounding roads are expected to increase. The new flyover could therefore become an important part of the area’s future transport network.

Residents have also highlighted the need for a better crossing over the expressway. Sector 150 residents currently face congestion while accessing the area from the Delhi and other Noida-side routes, particularly during peak traffic periods.

The Noida Authority will now proceed with detailed planning, technical preparations and other construction-related work for the flyover. Further details, including the construction timeline and implementation schedule, are expected as the project moves forward.

Once completed, the flyover is expected to improve movement between Sectors 148 and 150 while also benefiting surrounding sectors and villages. The project could become particularly important as residential and other development continues to expand along this part of Noida.
