Greater Noida West: Residents of Supertech Eco village-1 Protest at Hanuman Chowk on Wednesday evening against a recent increase in maintenance charges. The demonstration escalated into a road blockade, causing a traffic jam stretching nearly a kilometer. The protest gained momentum after a scheduled meeting between residents and the maintenance agency was canceled at the last minute.

The dispute centers around a hike in maintenance charges imposed by the agency from June 1. Leading the protest, resident representative Sanjay Sharma said that homeowners have been opposing the revised charges through demonstrations held every Sunday. He stated that residents expected a dialogue with the maintenance agency to address their concerns, but the cancellation of the planned meeting further aggravated the situation.

The protest had a significant impact on local traffic movement around Hanuman Chowk, with commuters facing long delays for several hours. Police officials reached the spot and worked to calm the crowd. After extensive discussions with residents, authorities managed to clear the road and restore normal traffic flow.

Residents had earlier submitted a memorandum signed by around 1,800 society members to ACP Pawan Kumar at Bisrakh Police Station. They are now demanding fresh talks with the maintenance agency and a review of the revised charges. Protesters have warned that if their concerns remain unresolved, they may intensify their agitation in the coming days.
