Mahagun Moderne GBM Adjourned Amid Questions Over AOA Elections and Financial Management

Noida: Residents of Mahagun Moderne Society in Sector 78, Noida, witnessed a contentious General Body Meeting (GBM) on Sunday as several members raised objections over the functioning of the Apartment Owners Association (AOA). The meeting was ultimately adjourned after repeated protests and demands for answers from residents.

The dispute centred on several aspects of the society’s administration, including AOA elections, financial management, security-related expenditure and charges collected from residents. Some residents questioned the continuation of certain individuals in AOA positions over an extended period and sought greater transparency in the process through which elections are conducted.

Financial matters also emerged as a major point of discussion. Residents sought an explanation for expenses and charges being collected from them, with some alleging that certain charges were significantly higher than expected. They demanded that detailed financial statements and records be made available so residents could understand how society funds were being collected and spent.

Security arrangements during the meeting also became a subject of discussion. Residents questioned the expenditure on security personnel and bouncers and sought clarification on the reasons for these additional arrangements and how the associated costs were being accounted for.

As the disagreements intensified, the meeting could not proceed as planned and was eventually adjourned. Following the adjournment, the concerned office-bearers reportedly left the venue while residents continued to raise their concerns.

Residents are now seeking greater accountability in the society’s administration. Their demands primarily include clearer AOA election procedures, access to financial records, transparency in expenditure and proper justification for maintenance and other charges. Further discussions or meetings may be required to address the unresolved issues and restore confidence among residents.
