Noida Authority New Office in Sector 96 to Open in April

Noida Authority’s new administrative headquarters in Sector 96 is ready for inauguration, bringing multiple departments under one roof to improve public services, accessibility, and efficiency for residents.

  • Noida Authority New Office built on a 6-acre plot along the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway

  • All Authority departments to operate from a single building

  • Project cost revised to ₹390 crore from the initial ₹478 crore

Noida Authority is preparing to inaugurate its new administrative headquarters in Sector 96 next month, marking a major step toward improving public services and administrative efficiency in the city.

Officials confirmed that the construction and finishing work of the new building has been completed and preparations are underway to shift departments to the facility. Once operational, the building will serve as the central hub for the Authority’s offices, bringing multiple departments under one roof.

Currently, the Authority’s offices are scattered across several locations in the city. The main administrative office operates from Sector 6, while other departments such as the horticulture department and the Jal department function from different sectors. This fragmentation often forces residents to visit multiple locations for property-related work and civic issues.

According to officials, the new headquarters will simplify this process and improve coordination between departments.

“We have completed the construction and finishing work of the building. Our aim is to inaugurate it next month and begin shifting departments so that services can be provided more efficiently,” said SP Singh, General Manager of the Noida Authority.

The new administrative complex is located along the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway, which offers easy access from various sectors of Noida as well as neighbouring areas such as Greater Noida. Officials believe the location will make it easier for residents and visitors to reach the office.

The facility has been developed on a six-acre plot and includes two towers designed to accommodate multiple administrative departments. The updated design features two towers with four and eight floors, replacing the earlier plan that proposed buildings with 18 and nine floors.

Officials stated that the revised construction plan helped reduce the project cost. The total project cost now stands at ₹390 crore, compared to the earlier estimate of ₹478 crore.

The redesign also focused on improving functionality and ensuring that the building meets modern administrative requirements.

Residents and local welfare associations have welcomed the development, saying the new facility will make it easier for people to resolve civic and property-related matters.

NP Singh, president of the Gautam Budh Nagar District Development Residents Welfare Association, said residents from different sectors and nearby villages frequently visit the Authority office for various issues.

“At present, people often have to travel between different sectors to complete their work because the departments operate from separate locations. Once the new office becomes operational, it will greatly benefit citizens,” he said.

The current administrative office in Sector 6 has long faced challenges due to limited space and inadequate parking facilities. Visitors often park their vehicles along nearby roads, leading to congestion in the area.

Officials expect the new complex to resolve these issues by offering better infrastructure and more organized visitor facilities.

The construction of the Sector 96 administrative building began on January 5, 2016, with the initial deadline set for January 2019. However, the project faced several delays over the years.

Authorities cited the Covid-19 pandemic and contractor-related issues as key reasons for the delay. After the original contractor failed to complete the work, the remaining civil construction was reassigned to a new contractor in 2022.

During the delay period, the Noida Authority also ordered a structural safety audit by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.

In its report submitted in December 2024, the institute identified certain weaknesses in structural elements such as beams, pillars, and walls. It recommended several remedial measures to ensure long-term structural stability.

Officials confirmed that the recommended improvements have since been implemented, and the building now meets safety standards.

With construction completed and departments preparing to shift, the new Sector 96 headquarters is expected to become a central administrative hub for the city, improving service delivery and reducing inconvenience for residents.
