GDA Demolishes Illegal Constructions in Shahpur Bamheta
The Ghaziabad Development Authority carried out a demolition drive in Shahpur Bamheta and Aditya World City, removing illegal structures despite protests as part of its action against unauthorized construction.

Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) carried out a major demolition drive against illegal constructions in Shahpur Bamheta on Saturday, removing unauthorized structures built on government and vacant land.
The action also covered an illegal colony near Aditya World City, where shops, warehouses, and other developments were demolished. The drive is part of GDA’s ongoing effort to curb unauthorized construction and planned illegal colonies in the city.
According to GDA officials, an illegal tin shed and a single-room structure made with iron pipes had been constructed on around 200 square metres of land under Khasra No. 1898, within a boundary wall spread across nearly 5,000 square metres. A legal case had already been registered against the unauthorized construction.
In another action behind Urban Homes in Aditya World City, authorities demolished illegally built Chicken Point shops, warehouses, roads, a boundary wall, and a site office developed by a colonizer on approximately 1,000 square metres of vacant land.
GDA Additional Secretary Pradeep Kumar Singh said the demolition was carried out in accordance with the authority’s demolition orders issued against the illegal constructions. He stated that enforcement teams acted after following the prescribed legal process, and all unauthorized structures identified during the operation were removed.
The demolition drive highlights GDA’s continued focus on preventing unauthorized land development and illegal colonies in Ghaziabad. Officials believe such action will discourage illegal encroachments, protect planned urban development, and ensure that land is used according to approved regulations.
GDA is expected to continue similar enforcement drives across Ghaziabad against unauthorized constructions and illegal colonies. Officials have also appealed to residents and property buyers to verify land approvals and building permissions before purchasing property to avoid legal complications in the future.
