Dispute Erupts at Noida’s Great Value Sharanam Society; Case Filed Against Five AOA Members

• Police registered a case against five AOA officials following a builder company complaint.
• The dispute reportedly centres on painting, repair and pending maintenance work.
• The AOA has raised separate concerns over CCTV, building conditions and security arrangements.

Noida: A dispute has surfaced at Great Value Sharanam Society in Sector 107, Noida, following allegations of a confrontation between Apartment Owners Association (AOA) officials and employees of the builder company. The incident reportedly took place during ongoing painting work at the society, after which Sector 39 police registered a case against five AOA officials.

According to the builder company, its employees and workers had entered the society to carry out painting and other maintenance-related work. The company alleged that some AOA officials confronted its staff later in the day, following which workers were allegedly abused, pushed and assaulted. The complaint names AOA President Abhishek Mittal, Vice President Anoop Pokhriyal, Treasurer Puneet Kapoor, Secretary Vishwaroop Malik and member Varun Kumar.

The builder company said efforts to complete the handover of the society to the AOA have been ongoing since 2021. According to the company, the AOA had previously provided a list of around 50 works that needed to be completed before the handover process could move forward.

The company claims it accepted the list and subsequently began addressing the identified issues. It said around 42 of the 50 works have been completed, while some major tasks, including facade repairs and firefighting-related work, remain pending.

The company also alleged that it employs around 150 people at the society and that several operational and security-related issues, including identification cards and CCTV functioning, needed attention.

The AOA, however, has presented a different account of the situation. Its representatives have raised concerns about the condition of the towers and the functioning of CCTV cameras across the society.

According to the AOA, repair and painting activities were being undertaken after a structural audit, and residents had raised concerns about the condition of the buildings. The association has also alleged that CCTV cameras across the society were not functioning properly.

The two sides have therefore offered contrasting accounts of the circumstances surrounding the confrontation and the work being carried out at the premises.

The builder company alleged that painting work began at around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, and that the confrontation occurred several hours later, at approximately 3:30 p.m.

According to its complaint, AOA officials Anoop Pokhriyal, Varun Kumar and Puneet Kapoor allegedly confronted employees, including Anurag Chaudhary, Sachin Sharma and Shujaat. The company has alleged that some employees were abused, pushed and physically assaulted, and that threats were also made.

The company further claimed that the workers were forced to leave the area, resulting in the suspension of the painting work.

AOA Vice President Anoop Pokhriyal has disputed the builder company’s version of events. He alleged that 10 to 15 people associated with the builder surrounded his team and that there was a threat of physical confrontation.

Pokhriyal also stated that the AOA approached Sector 39 police station regarding the incident but alleged that no immediate action was taken on its complaint.

The competing allegations are now part of the dispute, while the police case registered on the builder company’s complaint will determine the course of the investigation.

Police are expected to investigate the allegations made by both sides and examine available evidence, including CCTV footage and statements from employees, workers, AOA representatives and other witnesses. The ongoing dispute could also affect the completion of pending repair and maintenance work at the society.

For residents, the key issues remain the completion of essential repairs, functioning security systems, firefighting arrangements and a smooth handover process. A resolution between the builder and AOA will be important to ensure that maintenance work continues without further disruption.
