Greater Noida Residents May Face Low Water Pressure From September 15

Greater Noida: Residents across parts of Greater Noida may experience low water pressure from September 15 to November 27 as the Greater Noida Authority begins a phased cleaning programme for underground water reservoirs. The exercise is aimed at maintaining water quality and will cover residential sectors, group housing societies, educational institutions and other public facilities.

The cleaning work will be carried out in phases rather than simultaneously across the city. According to officials, the first reservoir scheduled for cleaning is in Omicron 1 from September 15 to 17. The programme will then move to other locations over the next 10 weeks. Since the work is being staggered, officials do not expect a citywide interruption in water supply.

The Greater Noida Authority has asked residents in areas covered by the schedule to make arrangements in advance. People may notice reduced water pressure while individual reservoirs are being cleaned, making it advisable to keep some water stored for essential household use.

Residents have also been urged to avoid unnecessary water consumption and use available supplies carefully during the maintenance period.

Greater Noida Authority Additional Chief Executive Officer Sunil Kumar Singh said that water pressure could remain low during the reservoir-cleaning work. He advised residents to keep some water in drums or other suitable containers beforehand and cooperate with the Authority during the exercise.

The programme follows directions from Greater Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer N G Ravi Kumar, who instructed the water department to undertake cleaning of the city’s underground reservoirs.

Underground reservoirs play an important role in Greater Noida’s water-distribution system. Regular cleaning and maintenance are intended to help maintain the quality of water supplied through the network.

Because the exercise will take place location by location, the Authority expects the wider distribution system to continue operating. However, residents in the affected areas could experience temporary pressure-related issues while work is underway.

The cleaning drive will begin at Omicron 1 on September 15 and continue across different parts of Greater Noida until November 27. Residents should keep track of the work in their respective areas and maintain a small reserve of water before cleaning begins at their local reservoir.
