Noida-Greater Noida Elevated Road Route Finalised for ₹4,000 Crore

The proposed elevated corridor will connect Noida Sector 94 with Greater Noida and the Noida International Airport, while improving links to Faridabad and Delhi.

  • The proposed eight-lane corridor is expected to cost around ₹4,000 crore.
  • The route will begin at Sector 94 near Kalindi Kunj and extend towards Greater Noida and the airport region.
  • NHAI will now prepare the Detailed Project Report after the alignment was finalised.

Noida: A major connectivity project linking Noida with Greater Noida has moved forward, with the route for the proposed elevated corridor now finalised. The roughly 50-km, eight-lane road will start from Noida Sector 94 near Kalindi Kunj and extend towards Greater Noida, with the larger network providing a direct route towards the Noida International Airport.

The alignment was finalised during a meeting involving the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Noida Authority, Greater Noida Authority and Yamuna Authority this week.

The project is estimated to cost around ₹4,000 crore and is being planned to address the expected rise in traffic as development around Noida International Airport gathers pace. From Sector 94, the corridor will broadly run alongside the Yamuna Pushta Road before crossing the Hindon river and reaching Greater Noida near Sector Chi-4.

It will then pass through areas including Gharbhara, Mursadpur and several sectors along the stretch between the Yamuna Expressway and the Yamuna river, before linking with the Faridabad-Jewar Greenfield Expressway.

According to Noida Authority General Manager AK Arora, the proposed corridor is expected to create a seamless connection between the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and Noida International Airport once it becomes operational.

The alignment also includes a proposed extension of around 2 km near Jagannathpur village in Greater Noida to connect with the under-construction Majhawali Bridge, which will provide a link towards Faridabad.

The project could significantly improve regional connectivity by bringing Noida, Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway network closer to the Faridabad Greenfield Expressway and the Majhawali Bridge. Around 27 km of the corridor, stretching from Sector 94 to Sector 150, will fall under the Noida Authority’s jurisdiction.

The new route is also expected to strengthen access between Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj and the airport, potentially reducing dependence on existing road corridors as traffic volumes increase.

With the alignment now finalised, NHAI is preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the project. The Noida Authority has already provided revenue maps covering 26 villages to help assess land requirements for the proposed corridor.

A separate second phase has also been proposed to extend the route from Sector 94 towards Akshardham in Delhi through the Pushta Road. NHAI is expected to take up the DPR for this phase at a later stage.
