Noida plans to develop DSC Road and Sector 79 T-Point as model roads
Noida plans to upgrade two key road stretches into model roads to ease congestion, improve traffic movement, enhance public infrastructure and provide better commuting conditions for residents and businesses.
- ₹14.97 crore proposed for the stretch from Irrigation Drain to Kulesara Bridge.
- ₹10.57 crore proposed for the Sector 79 T-Point to DSC Road stretch.

Noida: DSC Road is set for a major infrastructure upgrade, with the stretch from the Irrigation Drain to Kulesara Bridge proposed for development as a ‘Model Road’. The Sector 79 T-Point to DSC Road stretch has also been proposed for similar redevelopment. The move is aimed at improving traffic movement and public convenience on routes that handle heavy daily traffic.
The DSC Road connects several important industrial, commercial and residential areas, including NSEZ, Phase-II, Sectors 80 and 81 and the Hosiery Complex. The road is used every day by residents, employees, industrial units and a large number of heavy and light vehicles. The proposed works have an estimated cost of ₹14.97 crore for the Irrigation Drain Kulesara Bridge stretch and ₹10.57 crore for the Sector 79 T-Point DSC Road stretch.
According to the details of the project, consultants have prepared the proposals for both stretches and forwarded them to the competent authority for in-principle approval. No final work commencement date has been announced yet. The project is expected to move ahead once the required approval is granted.
The proposed development is particularly significant for the stretch between the Irrigation Drain and Kulesara Bridge, where traffic congestion has emerged as a major concern. During an inspection, it was observed that traffic coming from the elevated road adds to congestion, particularly during morning and evening peak hours.
The redevelopment is therefore intended not only to improve the appearance of the road but also to make daily travel smoother and more convenient.
Once the proposals receive the necessary approval, the authorities have targeted completion of the works within six months. The model road development is expected to focus on improving the overall condition and usability of these important stretches while supporting smoother movement between residential, commercial and industrial areas.
The project could also improve the experience of commuters travelling towards major industrial hubs in the area. However, the actual execution schedule will depend on the approval process and subsequent commencement of work.
The immediate next step is in-principle approval from the competent authority. After approval, the project can proceed towards execution, with the proposed six-month completion period beginning once the work is formally taken up. Until then, commuters will have to wait for further updates on the final approval and construction schedule.
