Noida: Uttar Pradesh Industry Minister Nand Gopal Gupta on Tuesday issued a strong warning to officials of the Noida Authority over alleged negligence, irregularities, and corruption in development-related works across the city.

The minister made the remarks during a high-level review meeting held in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, where senior officials discussed the authority’s progress over the last four years in infrastructure development, civic amenities, industrial growth, and public services.

The meeting focused on key areas including sanitation, water supply, sewerage systems, waste management, parks, roads, and investment-related projects in Noida. During the discussion, the minister stressed the need for greater accountability and transparency in all development works carried out by the authority.

According to an official statement, the minister directed officials to ensure that every complaint received from the public is investigated fairly and without bias. He instructed that strict action must be taken against officials or contractors found guilty of negligence or corruption.

Speaking on the issue of illegal construction, Nand Gopal Gupta said unauthorised developments should not be ignored under any circumstances. He asked the authority to identify responsible officials wherever illegal construction activities have taken place and fix accountability accordingly.

The minister also made it clear that no guilty individual should escape action merely due to retirement or administrative delays. He instructed departments to complete disciplinary proceedings against responsible persons within a fixed timeline.

Road infrastructure in industrial areas emerged as another major concern during the meeting. The minister reportedly expressed dissatisfaction over the poor condition of roads near industrial sectors and said several stretches had been neglected for a long time. He directed officials to begin repair and maintenance work on priority to improve connectivity and ease of movement for industries and residents alike.

Apart from infrastructure, cleanliness and public hygiene were also highlighted during the review. The minister instructed the authority to strengthen sanitation efforts across all zones and assign clear responsibilities to officials. He further suggested imposing penalties on those found negligent in maintaining cleanliness standards.

Officials were told that better monitoring and accountability would encourage timely completion of work and improve overall efficiency within departments.

Special attention was also given to the maintenance of parks and green spaces in Noida. The minister instructed officials to ensure parks remain clean, attractive, and properly maintained for public use. He also emphasised increasing greenery around industrial plots to improve the overall appearance of industrial areas and create a cleaner environment.

The review meeting comes at a time when concerns regarding civic maintenance, illegal construction, and delayed infrastructure projects have frequently been raised by residents and industrial stakeholders in Noida. Experts believe stronger monitoring and timely execution of development projects are essential as the city continues to grow as a major industrial and residential hub in Uttar Pradesh.

Reiterating the state government’s focus on transparency and good governance, the minister instructed officials to complete all development works in a time-bound and quality-driven manner. He also directed departments to prioritise quick resolution of public grievances to improve citizen trust and administrative efficiency.

The warning from the industry minister signals a stricter approach by the Uttar Pradesh government towards urban governance and infrastructure management in rapidly developing cities like Noida.
