The Noida Authority conducted a detailed review of the updated status of industrial plots on Tuesday, reinforcing its focus on accelerating industrial activity and contributing to Uttar Pradesh’s target of becoming a one trillion economy.
The review forms part of a broader monitoring framework under which government-level meetings are being held every month to track the progress and operational readiness of industrial projects. Officials said the objective is to identify stalled developments, address compliance gaps, and ensure that allotted land is being used productively.
Irregularities Flagged During Review
During the assessment, the authority noted multiple cases of non-compliance. Three industrial plots were found to have already been cancelled for failing to meet stipulated conditions. Of these, repossession orders have been issued for two plots, while one case is currently under legal proceedings.
In addition, the review highlighted a significant number of plots that remain unproductive. This includes eleven plots where construction has been completed but operations have not commenced, thirteen plots that are still under construction despite lapsing timelines, and nine vacant plots where the extension period has expired. Officials have been directed to initiate cancellation proceedings in line with prevailing rules and regulations.
Emphasis on Productive Land Use
Senior officials stressed that the exercise is not punitive but corrective in nature. The core aim is to ensure optimal utilisation of scarce industrial land and prevent it from being locked in unviable or inactive projects. By freeing up such plots, the authority plans to make space for serious investors and industries that can generate employment and economic output.
Authorities believe that timely action against delayed and non-functional projects will discourage land hoarding and promote a healthier industrial ecosystem in the region.
Aligning With the One Trillion Economy Goal
The move aligns closely with the Uttar Pradesh government’s long-term economic roadmap, where industrial growth is expected to play a central role. Regular reviews, stricter enforcement, and faster decision-making are seen as essential tools to boost manufacturing, logistics, and allied sectors.
Officials noted that consistent monitoring will also help improve investor confidence by creating a transparent and predictable regulatory environment. Faster resolution of stalled plots is expected to improve project execution timelines and strengthen Noida’s position as a key industrial hub in the National Capital Region.
The Noida Authority reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sustainable industrial development and ensuring that all allotted industrial land actively contributes to the state’s economic progress.
