Maintenance Agency Disappears Overnight, 400 Families Suffer at Supertech The Romano, Noida

Nearly 400 families at Supertech The Romano in Noida are struggling with water shortages, power cuts, lift concerns, and weakened security after the maintenance agency suddenly stopped operations.

  • Water supply and electricity services disrupted
  • Security guards allegedly stopped reporting for duty
  • Police begin investigation after residents file complaint

Noida: Residents of Supertech The Romano, located in Sector 118, Noida, are facing major difficulties after the society’s maintenance agency allegedly stopped functioning without prior notice, leaving hundreds of families without proper basic services.

According to residents, the situation turned chaotic after the maintenance company abruptly ceased operations on May 14. The sudden exit reportedly affected critical services such as water supply, electricity management, lift operations, and security arrangements inside the residential complex. Around 400 families living in the society are currently dealing with the fallout.

Residents claim that the agency left the premises without officially transferring operational responsibilities, technical records, or maintenance-related documentation. Following the incident, a complaint was lodged at the Sector 113 Police Station against the three owners of the maintenance agency. Police have now started investigating the matter.

One of the biggest concerns for residents has been the disruption of water supply in multiple towers. Several families allege that water availability has become irregular, causing inconvenience in daily household activities. At the same time, frequent electricity-related issues and power cuts have further added to residents’ frustration.

People living on higher floors are especially worried about the functioning of lifts. Residents say there is growing fear that lift services may stop entirely if technical support remains unavailable. Elderly citizens, children, and people with medical conditions are reportedly facing the most difficulties due to the uncertainty surrounding essential services.

Residents also highlighted the absence of trained technical staff within the society premises. According to them, emergency situations such as lift breakdowns, electrical faults, or fire incidents could become dangerous if immediate assistance is not available on-site.

Apart from utility disruptions, security concerns have also intensified within the residential complex. Residents allege that several security guards stopped reporting for duty after the maintenance agency halted operations.

This has reportedly weakened the verification process at entry gates, allowing outsiders to enter the premises without proper checks. Families living in the society say the lack of security staff has increased concerns regarding safety, especially during nighttime hours.

Many residents expressed disappointment, claiming that despite paying regular maintenance charges, service quality had been declining for a long time. According to them, repeated complaints regarding poor maintenance and operational issues were ignored, and the situation eventually escalated into a complete breakdown of services.

The issue has become more complicated because the Supertech group is already undergoing insolvency proceedings. Residents say the absence of a formally functioning Apartment Owners Association (AOA) has made it difficult to manage the crisis effectively.

In many housing societies, AOAs play a key role in supervising maintenance operations, handling resident grievances, and ensuring continuity of essential services. However, residents claim that the lack of such a body at Supertech The Romano has left them with limited options during the ongoing crisis.

Police officials have initiated an investigation to determine why the maintenance agency suddenly stopped working and whether any negligence, financial irregularities, or misconduct was involved. Authorities are also expected to examine whether residents were informed about the shutdown in advance and if proper operational procedures were followed.

Meanwhile, residents are demanding immediate restoration of essential services and a long-term solution to prevent similar situations in the future. Families living in the society hope that authorities and concerned stakeholders will intervene quickly to restore normalcy and ensure uninterrupted maintenance operations.
