The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) received an overwhelming response to its Awas Nivesh Yojana 2026, with more than 2,500 low-income group (LIG) flats booked within two hours of online bookings opening at noon on October 20, 2026. The scheme offers 2,516 flats in Narela, Delhi, at discounted prices, providing an affordable housing option for eligible homebuyers in the national capital.
The flats are located in Pockets 3 and 6 of Sectors G2–G6 in Narela. Under the scheme, buyers receive a flat 25% discount, with tentative prices starting at ₹14.95 lakh. Of the total inventory, 1,020 flats are in Pocket 3 and 1,496 are in Pocket 6. Each flat has an approximate plinth area of 49.90 square metres, including common areas. The allotment process follows a First Come, First Served (FCFS) system, with registration and booking handled online.
According to the DDA’s official announcement, the housing scheme was introduced under the guidance of Delhi Lieutenant Governor and DDA Chairman Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu. The initiative aims to expand access to affordable homes while making the application and booking process more convenient and transparent for applicants.
After the discount, the tentative price of a flat in Pocket 3 is ₹15.01 lakh, while flats in Pocket 6 are priced at ₹14.95 lakh. Applicants are required to pay a booking amount of ₹1 lakh per flat. A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of ₹2,500 is also applicable. Those who have already registered on the DDA Awaas Portal do not need to register again.
Narela is being developed as a major residential, educational, institutional and sports hub in North Delhi. Planned infrastructure improvements could make the area more accessible and strengthen its appeal among homebuyers looking for comparatively affordable housing options.
Connectivity is expected to improve with the upcoming Rithala–Narela–Kundli Metro Corridor and a proposed Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) station. Major roads, including Urban Extension Road (UER)-I, UER-II and GT Karnal Road, are also expected to support travel to and from the area.
The locality is also planned to benefit from an Education Hub in Sectors G2–G6, where land has been allotted to several universities. Nearby sports infrastructure includes the Narela Sports Complex in Sector A-7, alongside plans for a Multi-Sports Integrated Stadium and Sports Complex. Green spaces and civic amenities are additional components of the area’s development plans.
Applicants seeking detailed information about the scheme can visit the official DDA Awaas Portal at https://eservices.dda.org.in. The scheme brochure, which outlines eligibility requirements, payment conditions and other terms, is available through DDA’s official website.
Interested buyers should review the brochure carefully before making any payment or booking decision. For assistance, DDA has provided a toll-free helpline at 1800 110 332.
The strong initial response indicates substantial interest in the discounted housing inventory. However, the scheme’s longer-term impact will depend on the availability of remaining flats, the progress of supporting infrastructure and the pace at which Narela develops into a well-connected residential destination.
