Asian Paints Launches Hydronaa and Ultraa Adhesives, Sets Asia Book of Records Milestone

Asian Paints has introduced two wood adhesives, Hydronaa and Ultraa, alongside a 384 sq. ft. wooden mosaic created by 250 distributors and recognised by the Asia Book of Records.

  • Asian Paints launched Hydronaa, a premium waterproof wood adhesive, and an upgraded Ultraa adhesive.
  • Around 250 distributors collaborated to create a 384 sq. ft. wooden mosaic.
  • The artwork earned recognition from the Asia Book of Records for the largest wooden mosaic artwork created by an organisation.

Asian Paints has expanded its wood adhesives portfolio with the launch of Hydronaa and Ultraa, two products designed to meet different woodworking requirements. The company marked the launch with a large-scale collaborative initiative in which 250 distributors from across India created a 384 sq. ft. wooden mosaic. The installation received official recognition from the Asia Book of Records as the largest wooden mosaic artwork created by an organisation.

The initiative was organised around the theme ‘A Better Bond Starts Here’, highlighting the importance of strong bonding in woodworking as well as the contribution of the company’s distributor network. Participants assembled individual wooden panels into a single artwork, using the newly launched Hydronaa adhesive to attach the pieces and complete the installation.

The wooden mosaic was designed to demonstrate how individual contributions can come together to create a larger result. Each of the 250 participating distributors worked on separate wooden panels before the pieces were combined into the final 384 sq. ft. installation.

Asian Paints used the completed artwork as the centrepiece for unveiling Hydronaa and Ultraa. By involving its distribution partners directly in the event, the company also highlighted the role distributors play in bringing its products to customers and woodworking professionals across India.

The record-setting installation was not only a promotional activity but also an opportunity to recognise the company’s long-standing relationships with its distribution network.

Hydronaa is positioned as a premium waterproof wood adhesive developed for furniture and woodworking applications where exposure to moisture and humidity is a concern. The product uses advanced waterproof polymer technology and is designed to deliver strong bonding, easy application and improved coverage.

According to the company, Hydronaa offers 10% higher coverage, superior spreadability and high bond strength. Its moisture-resistant properties are intended to help improve the durability of furniture and wooden structures in demanding conditions.

Alongside Hydronaa, Asian Paints has introduced an improved version of Ultraa, its everyday woodworking adhesive. The upgraded formulation focuses on better coverage, smoother spreadability, easier application and improved bubble repairability. It also retains the high bond strength that existing users expect from the product.

Together, the two adhesives target different needs within the woodworking market, from everyday furniture-making applications to projects requiring additional protection against water and humidity.

Speaking about the product launches and the record-setting initiative, Amit Syngle, Managing Director and CEO of Asian Paints Ltd., emphasised the company’s broader understanding of the home and the people involved in building durable living spaces.

He said the company’s expansion into wood adhesives reflects its focus on products and materials that contribute to long-lasting homes. He also acknowledged the contribution of distributor partners, describing the mosaic project as a reflection of how collective efforts can produce something greater than individual achievements.

According to Syngle, the record recognition made the launch memorable, but the larger purpose was to celebrate the partners who help bring the company’s solutions to consumers and the woodworking industry.

The introduction of Hydronaa and the upgraded Ultraa comes as manufacturers and woodworking professionals continue to look for adhesives that offer reliable bonding, ease of use and better material efficiency.

For furniture makers, factors such as adhesive coverage, moisture resistance, application quality and bond strength can influence production efficiency and the long-term performance of finished products. Hydronaa’s waterproof formulation may be particularly relevant for furniture exposed to humid conditions, while Ultraa is intended to serve routine woodworking requirements.

The product launches also strengthen Asian Paints’ presence beyond its traditional paint business, allowing the company to serve a wider range of home improvement and woodworking needs.

With Hydronaa and Ultraa now added to its product portfolio, Asian Paints is focusing on providing solutions for different woodworking applications. The new products combine improvements in adhesive performance with an emphasis on application convenience and durability.

The company has also used the launch to reinforce its relationships with distributors, an important part of its nationwide market reach. The record-setting mosaic reflects this approach by bringing together product innovation, brand engagement and distributor participation.

As the company continues to expand its wood adhesives range, the performance of the new products and their adoption among furniture manufacturers, carpenters and other woodworking professionals will be important indicators of their market impact.
