- 13 projects approved across six UP districts
- 4,724 residential and commercial units to be developed
- ₹2,380.04 crore total investment planned
The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has approved 13 new residential and commercial projects across six districts of the state, paving the way for the development of 4,724 new units. The projects represent a combined investment of around ₹2,380.04 crore and were cleared during a meeting held at the UP RERA headquarters.
The approvals cover projects in Barabanki, Lucknow, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Agra. Among these districts, Barabanki accounts for the highest proposed investment at ₹751.42 crore, while Lucknow has the largest number of units, with 1,392 flats planned under a single project. Varanasi will also see substantial development, with three projects adding 1,189 units.
According to UP RERA, the approvals were given under the regulatory framework of the RERA Act, with an emphasis on completing the projects in a transparent and timely manner. UP RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy, who chaired the meeting, said the developments are expected to support both housing requirements and employment generation across the state.
The approved projects will bring new housing and commercial space to several important markets:
- Barabanki: Two residential projects with an investment of ₹751.42 crore will create 591 units.
- Lucknow: One project worth ₹385.76 crore will add 1,392 flats, the highest unit count among the approved developments.
- Varanasi: Three projects involving ₹750.24 crore will result in 1,189 units.
- Ghaziabad: Three projects, including two commercial and one residential development, will involve ₹286.27 crore and create 864 units.
- Gautam Buddha Nagar: Two projects, one residential and one commercial, will attract ₹186 crore of investment and add 564 units.
- Agra: Two projects with an investment of approximately ₹20.35 crore will develop 124 units.
The latest approvals could strengthen the supply of regulated housing and commercial developments in these districts. For homebuyers, projects registered under RERA provide a formal regulatory framework covering project disclosures, timelines and developer obligations, although buyers should still independently verify the project’s RERA registration and approved details before making any investment.
The approval of projects worth more than ₹2,380 crore is expected to generate activity across the construction and real estate sectors. Apart from increasing the availability of housing and commercial spaces, the developments are likely to create employment opportunities in construction, supporting services and allied industries.
The approvals are particularly relevant for markets such as Lucknow, Varanasi, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar, where residential and commercial development continues to expand.
Developers of the approved projects can now proceed with construction in accordance with their registered project plans and applicable regulatory requirements. UP RERA’s emphasis on timely and transparent execution will be important as these projects move from approval to construction and, eventually, delivery to buyers.
