Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja are once again making headlines for their high-profile real estate investments in London. The couple has reportedly purchased five additional flats near their luxury mansion in the prestigious Notting Hill neighbourhood, one of the most expensive residential areas in the United Kingdom.
The reported value of the newly acquired flats is around £4 million (approximately ₹51.4 crore). These properties are believed to be located close to the couple’s sprawling Notting Hill mansion, which they allegedly purchased around three years ago for nearly £21 million (around ₹270 crore). Since then, the mansion has reportedly been undergoing large-scale renovations.

The latest property purchases, however, have reportedly triggered unease among some residents living in the same building. According to the publication, locals claim the flats were acquired through a company allegedly connected to the celebrity couple. Reports further suggest that the apartments may be intended for household staff accommodation, though this has not been officially confirmed by Sonam Kapoor or Anand Ahuja.
Residents quoted in the report expressed concerns over changes to the character and community atmosphere of the building. One homeowner reportedly stated that people living there now feel uncomfortable speaking openly because of the influence and wealth associated with the buyers. The resident also claimed there were discussions around the flats potentially being made available for “social housing” if objections continued, which reportedly caused further tension among occupants.
However, a spokesperson associated with the couple denied that Sonam Kapoor or Anand Ahuja had any direct involvement in the company that purchased the flats. The representative reportedly clarified that the apartments were acquired purely as investment properties and not specifically for staff accommodation.
The controversy comes as reports suggest the couple has already spent nearly £4.7 million (approximately ₹60.4 crore) on renovating their Notting Hill mansion. The luxurious property is said to feature premium interiors and extensive redesign work. Sonam and Anand already own another flat and a studio apartment in the same neighbourhood, which previously gained attention after being featured in an Architectural Digest home tour.
Notting Hill remains one of London’s most elite residential districts, attracting celebrities, business tycoons, and international investors due to its luxury townhouses, private gardens, and proximity to central London. Property prices in the area continue to rank among the highest in Europe, making any large-scale acquisition particularly notable.
Apart from their investments in London, the couple also own luxury homes in Delhi and Mumbai. Sonam Kapoor, daughter of actor Anil Kapoor, has often shared glimpses of her elegant lifestyle and interiors through interviews and social media appearances.
Anand Ahuja belongs to the family behind Shahi Exports, one of India’s largest garment manufacturing companies. He is also known for founding the fashion brand Bhaane and co-founding premium sneaker retailer VegNonVeg.

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja married in 2018 after dating for several years. The couple welcomed their first son, Vayu, in 2022. Earlier this year, reports stated that they welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Rudralokh Kapoor Ahuja.
While neither Sonam nor Anand has publicly addressed the recent reports surrounding the London flats, the story has generated widespread discussion online, especially around celebrity real estate investments and luxury housing in global cities.
