Bollywood actor Tabu has purchased a premium apartment in Versova’s Godrej Skyshore project, reflecting continued demand for luxury housing in Mumbai’s western suburbs and celebrity-driven real estate investments.

- Tabu buys 2,153 sq ft apartment in Versova for over ₹10 crore
- Property located in Godrej Skyshore by Godrej Properties
- Mumbai property registrations remain stable despite slight dip in stamp duty collections
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Tabu has added a new premium property to her portfolio, purchasing a luxury apartment worth over ₹10 crore in Mumbai’s Versova locality. The deal highlights the continued attraction of Mumbai’s western suburbs among high-net-worth individuals and celebrities.
According to property registration documents accessed by Liases Foras, the apartment is located in the upscale residential project Godrej Skyshore, developed by Godrej Properties. The transaction was officially registered on March 26, 2026.
The apartment spans approximately 2,153 sq ft and includes an additional balcony space of around 127 sq ft. As per documents, the property also comes with two dedicated car parking spaces—an important feature in densely populated areas like Mumbai. The purchase involved a stamp duty payment of ₹5.24 lakh along with a registration fee of ₹30,000.
The Godrej Skyshore project is being developed on a land parcel of over 27,000 sq ft. It comprises two residential towers—Tower A and Tower B—each designed with five basement levels, a ground floor, and 24 upper floors. The development will house a total of 126 residential units, catering to buyers looking for premium living spaces in Mumbai.
The project’s configuration and scale indicate a focus on modern urban living, combining vertical development with essential amenities and efficient space planning. While the developer has not officially commented on the transaction, such celebrity purchases often boost the visibility and perceived value of projects in competitive micro-markets like Versova.
Versova, located in Mumbai’s western suburbs, continues to emerge as a sought-after residential destination. The area offers strong connectivity to key commercial hubs, entertainment zones, and business districts. With metro connectivity improving access across the city, Versova has gained popularity among professionals, investors, and celebrities alike.
The locality is also known for housing several prominent personalities from the film industry. Areas like Versova, Lokhandwala, Juhu, Bandra, and Khar have long been associated with Bollywood’s elite residents, offering a mix of privacy, lifestyle amenities, and proximity to studios and production houses.
Tabu’s purchase follows a similar trend seen in recent months. In 2025, actor and model Gauhar Khan acquired three apartments in Versova worth ₹10.13 crore, further reinforcing the area’s appeal among celebrities.
Tabu, whose full name is Tabassum Fatima Hashmi, is widely regarded as one of India’s most versatile actors. Known for her performances in films like Maqbool, Haider, and Andhadhun, she has received multiple National Awards and critical acclaim for her unconventional roles.
The broader Mumbai real estate market has remained steady. According to data from Knight Frank, the city recorded 15,516 property registrations in March 2026, slightly higher than 15,501 registrations in March 2025.
However, stamp duty collections saw a decline of around 6% year-on-year, falling to ₹1,492 crore from ₹1,589 crore. Analysts suggest this dip reflects a change in the mix of transactions rather than a slowdown in demand.
Overall, Tabu’s latest purchase underlines the resilience of Mumbai’s premium housing segment, where demand remains consistent despite minor fluctuations in broader market indicators. With strong infrastructure, lifestyle appeal, and celebrity interest, micro-markets like Versova continue to attract both end-users and investors looking for long-term value.
