The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has accelerated land acquisition to meet the growing industrial and infrastructure requirements outlined in Master Plan 2041. In the current financial year alone, the Authority has purchased nearly 2,700 acres for Rs 4,856 crore.
The land is being secured to support development across 52 planned sectors, of which 46 will be taken up in phases. Key sectors include 4, 5, 5A, 8A, 8D, 8F, and 11. Officials confirmed that land is being directly purchased from farmers, with due process such as publishing farmer lists and inviting objections underway.
To finance these acquisitions, YEIDA has drawn funds under the Chief Minister Industrial Expansion Scheme. Earlier, Rs 3,000 crore was secured, and an additional Rs 1,500 crore was arranged before the close of the financial year. The loans are interest-free, aimed at supporting rapid industrial growth in the region.
The newly acquired land is already being aligned with upcoming industrial projects. An LoI has been issued to New Holland for setting up a tractor manufacturing facility across nearly 100 acres in Sector 8D.
Similarly, the Electric Vehicles Manufacturers Welfare Trust has received an LoI to establish an EV manufacturing cluster on another 100 acres. The cluster model will accommodate multiple electric vehicle and component manufacturers, strengthening the region’s EV ecosystem.
Apart from manufacturing, Sector 11 is earmarked for a proposed fintech hub, while Sector 8D will also see logistics and warehousing facilities. Land is being set aside for internal roads and supporting infrastructure to ensure smooth project execution.
YEIDA has sped up the issuance of Letters of Intent (LoIs) to ensure faster ground-level development. So far, 3,113 industrial plots have been allotted across various sectors. Construction has been completed on 52 plots, while 27 units have already commenced production. Around 340 units are currently under construction.
Officials said the Authority aims to make nearly 180 industrial units operational by the end of this year.
To simplify procedures, YEIDA has moved the building plan approval system online. Allottees can now track applications remotely. Till date, 672 companies have received industrial building plan approvals, and nearly half have already begun construction.
With large-scale land procurement, sector-wise planning, and faster industrial clearances, YEIDA’s push under Master Plan 2041 signals a strong intent to position the Yamuna Expressway region as a major industrial and manufacturing hub in North India.
