Rs 587 Cr Medical Device Park Project Gets YEIDA Nod in Noida

Under the Invest UP initiative, YEIDA has cleared a major medical manufacturing project in Sector 28, Noida, paving the way for advanced cancer care, medical robotics, and large-scale job creation.

  • Rs 587 crore investment proposed on 10 acres at Medical Device Park, Sector 28

  • Over 900 direct and nearly 2,000 indirect jobs expected

  • Facility to manufacture cancer therapy systems, imaging equipment, robotics, and cardiac devices

Noida: In a significant boost to Uttar Pradesh’s medical manufacturing ecosystem, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) to Shukra Pharmaceuticals for setting up an advanced medical technologies facility at the Medical Device Park in Sector 28, Noida. The project, cleared under the Invest UP initiative, will span 10 acres and involves a proposed investment of Rs 587 crore.

Officials said the upcoming plant will focus on high-end healthcare manufacturing, including Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT), considered among the most advanced treatment options for complex cancer cases. The facility is also expected to strengthen India’s capabilities in critical medical equipment while reducing dependence on imports.

Beyond cancer care technologies, the company plans to manufacture a wide range of radiology and imaging equipment such as CT scanners, MRI systems, PET scanners, X-ray machines, and ultrasound devices. The project will also cover anaesthesia systems, respiratory care solutions for ICUs and operating theatres, ventilators, and oxygen concentrators—aimed at reinforcing the country’s emergency and critical care infrastructure.

Cardiac care will form another key pillar of the facility, with plans to produce heart valves, stents, and left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) to support treatment of serious heart conditions.

A major highlight of the project is its focus on medical robotics. The plant is expected to develop soft-tissue surgical robots, orthopaedic and dental robotic systems, and neuro-spine robotic platforms designed to improve surgical precision. In addition, in-vitro diagnostic solutions—including point-of-care testing devices and advanced analysers—will be manufactured to enable faster and more accurate diagnosis.

To support skill development in healthcare, the company also intends to set up medical simulators for training doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff, helping enhance clinical capabilities while reducing patient risk.

According to YEIDA, the project is projected to generate over 900 direct jobs and nearly 2,000 indirect employment opportunities across manufacturing, research and development, quality control, regulatory affairs, sales, and allied services. Officials added that local hiring and workforce training will be prioritised.

The Medical Device Park, spread across more than 350 acres along the Yamuna Expressway, is currently about 80% complete and is targeted for full completion by the end of 2026. So far, land has been allotted to 101 companies, with cumulative investment commitments exceeding Rs 1,200 crore—reflecting strong industry interest in the park.
