Bhumi World has unveiled plans to launch The Outlet Mall of India, a ₹200 crore retail development in Bhiwandi that aims to reshape the shopping and lifestyle landscape of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Scheduled for a grand opening in mid-March 2026, the project is positioned to be among the largest outlet malls in the country.
Designed around a 365-day discount retail model, the mall will offer consumers consistent value through discounted pricing on a wide range of domestic and international brands. The concept mirrors successful global outlet destinations and reflects a growing shift toward organised retail hubs located outside traditional city centres.
The development is expected to attract shoppers not only from Mumbai and Thane but also from Pune, Nashik, and surrounding regions, supported by strong connectivity through the Mumbai–Nashik Highway and the Samruddhi Expressway. Industry experts see this as a strategic move to tap into rising demand for destination-style shopping on metro outskirts.
Beyond retail, the outlet mall is projected to play a significant role in local economic development, generating employment opportunities across retail operations, logistics, hospitality, and allied services. The project is also likely to strengthen Bhiwandi’s position as an emerging commercial and lifestyle hub.
Commenting on the announcement, Prakash Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of Bhumi World, said the project is envisioned as more than a shopping complex. Inspired by international outlet destinations such as Bicester Village and Woodbury Common, the mall aims to deliver a world-class “retailtainment” experience while contributing to regional growth and employment.
With a diverse mix of categories including fashion, lifestyle, electronics, home décor, and food and beverage, The Outlet Mall of India is expected to redefine value-driven retail in the MMR and set a new benchmark for outlet shopping in India.
