Walplast Launches Moisture-Resistant Gypsum Plaster Solutions
Walplast has introduced two new gypsum plaster products aimed at moisture-prone areas and faster interior finishing, offering contractors purpose-built formulations for different construction applications.
- GypEx MoistShield and GypEx Gold have been added to Walplast’s HomeSure GypEx range.
- MoistShield is designed for areas including bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, basements and podiums.
- GypEx Gold targets interior walls and ceilings, with an emphasis on application efficiency and consistent finishing.
Walplast Products Pvt. Ltd. has expanded its HomeSure GypEx range with two new gypsum plaster solutions, GypEx MoistShield and GypEx Gold. The products have been introduced to address different plastering requirements, particularly in moisture-prone areas and interior applications.
The launch comes as construction companies and applicators increasingly look for materials that can support faster finishing work while maintaining consistent surface quality. GypEx MoistShield is positioned for locations where moisture resistance is an important consideration, while GypEx Gold is designed as a single-coat solution for interior walls and ceilings.
GypEx MoistShield has been developed for internal areas that can experience higher moisture exposure. Its intended applications include bathrooms, kitchens, basements, balconies, parking podiums and skirting areas.
According to Walplast, the formulation combines gypsum, selected fillers and specialised additives. The product is designed to help manage water absorption while providing adhesion and a smooth finished surface on internal substrates.
GypEx Gold, meanwhile, is a premium gypsum plaster intended for internal walls and ceilings. It can be applied over brickwork, blockwork and concrete surfaces. The formulation uses retarded hemihydrate gypsum along with lightweight aggregates and performance-oriented additives.
The company says the product is designed to provide easier application, good adhesion and more predictable setting behaviour, potentially helping applicators complete plastering work with fewer application steps.

He said MoistShield is intended to address moisture-related requirements in specific areas, while GypEx Gold is designed to simplify interior plastering through a pre-formulated, single-coat system.
Sanjay Pawar, Head – R&D and Quality, Drychem India, said the products were developed around specific application challenges, with their formulations designed to deliver more controlled performance.
The new additions could give contractors and applicators more specialised options depending on the location and type of plastering work involved. MoistShield is targeted at areas where moisture exposure is a concern, while GypEx Gold is focused on simplifying conventional interior plastering applications.
For construction professionals, purpose-specific materials can also help standardise application processes and surface finishing across different projects. The practical results, however, will depend on factors such as substrate condition, application practices and site conditions.
With the launch of GypEx MoistShield and GypEx Gold, Walplast is expanding the range of gypsum-based products available under its HomeSure GypEx portfolio. The company is expected to position the two products for different segments of interior and moisture-sensitive construction work.
Contractors and applicators considering the products should follow the manufacturer’s application specifications and select the appropriate formulation based on the substrate and environmental conditions at the project site.
