IGL Offers Full Deposit Waiver for PNG Connections in Gautam Buddha Nagar

• IGL is offering a 100% waiver on the ₹6,000 meter security deposit.

Government and defence residential colonies in Gautam Buddha Nagar can now get new piped natural gas (PNG) connections without paying the usual meter security deposit. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has announced a 100% waiver on the ₹6,000 deposit for eligible new connections under a limited-period promotional scheme.

The offer is valid until September 17, 2026, and is aimed at colonies and employee residential quarters where PNG infrastructure either needs to be introduced or expanded. The move could make it easier for government departments and defence-related establishments to extend piped gas access across their residential facilities.

According to IGL, the scheme covers residential colonies and employee quarters belonging to central and state government departments, government offices and paramilitary establishments. Servant quarters located within or attached to eligible residential accommodation are also covered. However, the concerned organisation must complete the required coordination and documentation with IGL within the offer period.

IGL senior engineer and PNG project and acquisition institutional in-charge Mool Chand Gupta said the company would provide a complete waiver of the ₹6,000 meter security deposit for every eligible PNG connection during the promotional period. The district administration has also directed departments and organisations to identify residential colonies where PNG infrastructure is required.

The scheme is part of a broader effort to increase the adoption of piped natural gas in government residential accommodation. For residents, PNG can provide a continuous cooking-gas supply without the need to regularly arrange LPG cylinders. For authorities, expanding the network can also help bring more government housing into the city’s existing natural gas distribution system.

The Gautam Budh Nagar district administration has asked eligible departments and organisations to identify colonies and employee quarters where PNG infrastructure needs to be developed or expanded. They have also been asked to provide flat-wise information, including the number of residential units, colony name and complete address.

Organisations interested in the waiver will need to complete the necessary formalities, including coordination and the required MoU process with IGL, before the September 17 deadline.

The waiver will apply only to eligible new PNG connections covered under the scheme. Departments and organisations should therefore complete the process within the promotional period if they want to take advantage of the ₹6,000 saving per connection.
