IKEA to Open New 30,000 Sq Ft Store in Saket on July 30

Delhi: Swedish home furnishing retailer IKEA will open its new 30,000 sq ft city-format store at DLF Avenue, Saket, on July 30, marking another major step in its expansion across Delhi-NCR. The new outlet is IKEA’s second city-format store in Delhi and its fourth such store in India. The expansion comes as the company aims to improve accessibility for customers while moving closer to its long-term goal of operating 30 stores in India by 2030.

The Saket outlet has been designed specifically for customers in South Delhi after IKEA teams studied local homes and lifestyle preferences in neighbourhoods including Greater Kailash, Malviya Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, and South Extension. The store will display nine room settings inspired by local homes, offer nearly 3,000 products, and provide access to IKEA’s complete catalogue of over 6,900 products through its website, mobile app, and Shop by Phone service.

Customers can also avail of kitchen planning, wardrobe design, assembly, installation, warranties, and home delivery services.

Speaking about the launch, Patrik Antoni, CEO of IKEA India, said Saket is a natural location for the company’s next Delhi store and will make it easier for customers to explore affordable home furnishing solutions. Pooja Grover, Country Expansion Manager, added that Delhi remains one of IKEA’s key growth markets and reaffirmed the company’s target of opening 30 stores by 2030.

Aadosh Sharma, Country Commercial Manager, said the new outlet reflects the unique lifestyle of South Delhi residents, who value multifunctional spaces, entertaining guests, and blending modern design with cultural aesthetics.

The opening strengthens IKEA’s presence in North India and supports its strategy of combining city-format stores with large flagship outlets. Customers visiting the Saket store will also have access to digital planning tools such as Kreativ and the PAX Wardrobe Planner, allowing them to visualise furniture inside their homes before making a purchase. The store will also include IKEA’s signature café serving Swedish dishes alongside Indian snacks.

Looking ahead, IKEA confirmed that its much-awaited Ingka Centres projects in Gurugram (2027) and Noida (2028) remain on schedule. Each development will feature a flagship IKEA store of around 2 lakh sq ft integrated with shopping, restaurants, offices, and hospitality spaces.

The company also highlighted India’s growing importance in its global business, with around 30% of products sold in India sourced locally and exports worth nearly €2 billion annually to IKEA stores worldwide.
