- JK Naturals Aura contains over 40% eco-friendly content, including more than 10% bio-based emulsion.
- The paint uses recycled PVB sourced from laminated glass waste through a partnership with Denmark-based Shark Solutions.
- The company plans to launch the product across North India from late October to mid-November 2026, followed by a nationwide rollout.
JK Maxx Paints, a subsidiary of JK Cement Ltd., has entered the sustainable paints segment with the launch of JK Naturals, a new paint brand, and its first product, JK Naturals Aura Luxury Interior Emulsion. The product was introduced as part of the company’s efforts to bring sustainability-focused materials and technology into India’s decorative paints market.
The new interior paint combines recycled and bio-based ingredients with a premium finish and air-purification technology. According to the company, the formulation contains more than 40% eco-friendly content, including over 10% bio-based emulsion. Its air-purification technology is designed to reduce formaldehyde in indoor environments, addressing growing consumer interest in healthier indoor spaces and environmentally conscious home improvement products.
A key feature of JK Naturals Aura is its use of recycled polyvinyl butyral (PVB), a material recovered from end-of-life laminated glass. JK Maxx Paints developed the product in collaboration with Shark Solutions, a Denmark-based cleantech company specialising in recycling technologies.
By incorporating recovered PVB into its paint formulation, the company aims to give discarded materials a new use in manufacturing. The product’s sustainability approach also includes recycled packaging, extending the use of recycled materials beyond the paint itself.
The launch comes as manufacturers increasingly explore alternative raw materials and more resource-conscious production methods for home improvement products. However, the environmental benefits of individual products depend on their overall composition, manufacturing processes and independently verified performance.
Commenting on the launch, Nitish Chopra, Business Head, White Cement and Paints at JK Maxx Paints, said the new brand reflects the company’s efforts to respond to changing consumer preferences. He highlighted the combination of innovative materials, air-purification technology and premium aesthetics in JK Naturals Aura.
Chopra also emphasised the company’s collaboration with Shark Solutions, describing it as part of its effort to explore new materials and balance product performance with environmental responsibility.
The paint is available in more than 2,000 shades and features a smooth texture with a sheen finish. This range of colour choices is intended to give homeowners and interior designers flexibility when selecting finishes for residential interiors.
JK Maxx Paints plans to introduce JK Naturals Aura in phases, starting in North India between late October and mid-November 2026. A nationwide rollout is planned after the initial launch phase.
The phased approach will allow the company to introduce the new product to the market before expanding its availability across other regions. The launch adds another offering to India’s competitive decorative paints segment, where manufacturers are targeting consumers looking for premium finishes alongside sustainability-related features.
Alongside the product launch, the company is introducing a ‘Pledge a Tree’ initiative through a QR code printed on the product packaging. Consumers can scan the code and make an online pledge, after which the company says it will plant one tree for each pledge submitted online.
The initiative is intended to encourage consumer participation in tree plantation and environmental conservation. JK Maxx Paints will also support the launch with a digital film showcasing the brand’s approach to sustainable home beautification.
As JK Naturals Aura enters the market, its reception will depend on product availability, pricing, application performance and how effectively the company communicates the benefits of its recycled and bio-based materials to consumers.
