YEIDA Finalises Agency to Prepare Service Master Plan for Yamuna City

YEIDA has selected an agency to prepare Yamuna City’s Service Master Plan, covering water, sewage, drainage and civic infrastructure to support future urban and industrial growth.

  • ₹3 crore has been allocated for preparing the Service Master Plan.
  • The plan will assess existing water, sewer and drainage infrastructure and identify capacity gaps.
  • Noida International Airport and future industrial growth will be key factors in planning Yamuna City’s infrastructure.

Greater Noida: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has finalised an agency to prepare the Service Master Plan for Yamuna City in Greater Noida. The agency has been given three months to complete the assignment, with the project expected to guide the development of essential civic infrastructure in the rapidly expanding area.

The ₹3 crore plan will focus on critical services such as water supply, sewerage, drainage and related urban infrastructure. The planning is particularly important as Yamuna City is expected to see significant population growth, industrial activity and traffic movement, especially with the development of Noida International Airport and proposed industrial projects in the region.

According to YEIDA officials, the Service Master Plan will be prepared in line with the broader Master Plan 2041. It will establish the infrastructure requirements needed to support future residential and industrial development while taking expected population density, road requirements, green areas and wastewater generation into account.

YEIDA Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) Manish Meena said the agency has been selected and is expected to submit the Service Master Plan within the prescribed three-month period.

As part of the exercise, the appointed agency will examine the existing infrastructure across Yamuna City. This will include surveys of water pipelines, drainage networks, sewer lines, manholes, pumping stations and other related structures.

The assessment will also identify deficiencies and determine whether existing systems have sufficient capacity to meet future demand. Factors such as population growth, industrial activity, land use, water bodies and environmentally sensitive areas will also form part of the study.

The preparation of the plan comes as Yamuna City is entering a phase of major development. The upcoming Noida International Airport and planned industrial expansion are expected to increase demand for basic urban services, making early infrastructure planning important.

YEIDA aims to use the Service Master Plan to create an integrated system capable of handling future demand for water, sewerage and drainage. The authority also intends to factor in environmental sustainability and long-term urban growth while designing the infrastructure network.

The selected agency will now conduct field surveys and evaluate the existing infrastructure before preparing the detailed plan. Once completed, the Service Master Plan is expected to provide YEIDA with a roadmap for upgrading existing systems and developing new infrastructure according to the projected needs of Yamuna City.

The exercise is aimed at ensuring that essential civic services are planned in advance rather than being expanded only after population and industrial activity increase.
