Noida: Residents of Mahagun Meadows Society in Sector 150, Noida, faced major inconvenience on Thursday after security guards staged a protest over the alleged non-payment of salaries for the past two months. During the demonstration, the guards shut the society’s main gate, bringing all entry and exit to a halt for nearly two hours. The incident highlighted growing concerns over salary delays and maintenance issues in residential communities.

According to residents, the security guards closed the main entrance around 11:30 am, preventing both vehicles and pedestrians from entering or leaving the society. The situation became particularly difficult when schoolchildren returned home and parents requested the guards to allow them inside. After discussions, the gate was reopened at around 1:30 pm, restoring normal movement. Police also reached the spot after receiving information about the protest.

Residents alleged that despite paying the builder two years’ advance maintenance charges, the society continues to face several unresolved issues. They claimed that basic amenities have not been maintained properly and that large areas meant for landscaping are now covered with overgrown bushes. Many residents also expressed concern over the reported presence of snakes and other poisonous insects within the society premises.

With police intervention, the immediate protest ended and access to the society was restored. Residents are now expecting the builder and the maintenance agency to resolve the salary dispute quickly while also addressing long-pending maintenance concerns to prevent similar incidents in the future.
