YEIDA Plans Electronics Manufacturing Hub Near Noida Airport

YEIDA has floated a tender to build a large electronics manufacturing cluster near the upcoming Noida International Airport, aiming to boost production of automotive, consumer, industrial and medical electronics.

  • Rs 339-crore electronics manufacturing cluster planned in Sector 10

  • Project spread across 206 acres near Noida International Airport

  • Developer will build industrial infrastructure and utility networks

Noida: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has started the process of developing a major Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) near the upcoming Noida International Airport. The authority has issued an e-tender to select a developer who will build and manage the infrastructure for the project.

The proposed cluster will come up in Sector 10 along the Yamuna Expressway and is estimated to cost around Rs 339 crore. The initiative is expected to strengthen the electronics manufacturing ecosystem in the region and attract both domestic and global companies.

The cluster is planned as an integrated industrial ecosystem designed to support a wide range of electronics sectors. These include automotive electronics, such as sensors, control units, and in-vehicle infotainment systems used in modern vehicles.

The project will also cater to industrial electronics, including automation equipment, control panels, and power systems that are widely used in manufacturing and industrial operations.

In addition, the cluster aims to attract companies producing consumer electronics like smartphones, televisions, and home appliances. The ecosystem may also support medical electronics manufacturing, including diagnostic machines, monitoring systems, and therapeutic devices used in hospitals and healthcare facilities.

According to the plan, the selected developer will be responsible for creating the core infrastructure required for industrial operations. This includes constructing industrial buildings, developing internal road networks, and building common facilities for businesses operating within the cluster.

Utility infrastructure such as water supply systems, drainage networks, sewerage lines, electrical infrastructure, substations, and firefighting systems will also be developed as part of the project. Public health engineering works and other essential support services will be included to ensure smooth functioning of manufacturing units.

The electronics cluster is strategically located near the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, which is expected to become one of North India’s major logistics and trade hubs. Improved connectivity through the Yamuna Expressway and other upcoming infrastructure projects is likely to make the region attractive for large manufacturing investments.

Last year, the central government approved the development of the EMC across about 206 acres, highlighting its importance in strengthening India’s electronics manufacturing capabilities.

YEIDA has invited online bids for the project, and interested companies can submit their proposals until March 10. Once the developer is selected, the infrastructure development work is expected to be completed within 18 months.

Industry experts believe the project could play a crucial role in turning the Noida-Greater Noida-Yamuna Expressway region into a major electronics manufacturing hub, generating employment and attracting new investments in the coming years.
