Gurugram: The Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) is planning a major land procurement drive in Gurugram, targeting around 17,000 acres through the e-Bhoomi digital portal. The initiative is aimed at supporting future urban development and infrastructure expansion in one of the country’s fastest-growing real estate markets.

Officials said the use of the e-Bhoomi portal, an online land management system, will help streamline the acquisition process by digitising ownership verification, land titles, and registration records. By shifting the process online, the authority expects to improve transparency and reduce delays often associated with manual paperwork.

According to HSVP, the platform will allow authorities to identify land titles, verify ownership details, and process documentation digitally. The system will also integrate cadastral maps and historical title data, creating a detailed digital record for every parcel of land considered for acquisition.

Authorities believe that this digital approach could speed up compensation settlements and statutory approvals, ensuring smoother transactions for both landowners and government agencies.

The land parcels identified for procurement are expected to be spread across multiple sectors and peri-urban areas of Gurugram. Once acquired, the land will be incorporated into long-term development plans that include residential housing, road networks, and essential urban utilities.

Officials noted that the acquisition process will follow legal procedures and regulatory requirements, including community consultations and approvals from relevant authorities. The development of the acquired land will likely be implemented in phases, allowing HSVP to align infrastructure development with financial planning and city master plans.

The move comes as Gurugram continues to witness rapid population growth and expanding real estate activity, increasing the need for planned urban infrastructure. Authorities believe the digital procurement model could serve as a template for other state agencies looking to modernise land acquisition processes.

HSVP has also indicated that the portal will provide regular updates and timelines for the procurement process. Mechanisms will be introduced to monitor progress and address public grievances, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the initiative.
