GNIDA Demolishes Illegal Construction in Village Bhanauta, Greater Noida & Reclaims ₹20 Cr Land

Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on Wednesday demolished illegal constructions on notified land in Village Bhanauta, reclaiming nearly 10,000 square metres of prime property estimated to be worth about ₹20 crore.

Officials said the action followed complaints of unlawful construction on Khasra No. 135, where colonizers were allegedly carving out plots and attempting to develop the land without approvals. Acting on the directions of GNIDA CEO Ravi Kumar, teams from the Project Department’s Work Circle-II carried out the demolition using bulldozers, supported by authority security staff.

The cleared site falls within notified limits of Greater Noida, where any development requires prior permission and sanctioned layout plans. GNIDA reiterated that construction in such areas without approval will attract strict enforcement.

GNIDA Additional CEO Sumit Yadav said the authority will continue similar drives against illegal colonies and unauthorized developments across the region. He also urged residents and investors to verify ownership documents and land-use status with GNIDA’s Land Department before purchasing any property, warning that investments in unauthorized projects often lead to legal and financial losses.

Project General Manager A.K. Singh confirmed that the demolition was carried out after a formal complaint and added that legal action would follow if anyone attempts to reoccupy or rebuild on the reclaimed land.

GNIDA once again appealed to the public to remain cautious while buying plots, emphasizing that only approved layouts and registered projects offer long-term security. The authority said such enforcement measures are aimed at protecting genuine buyers and ensuring planned development in the Greater Noida region.
