  • Lifts, water supply and basic services badly affected

  • Police intervene to clear road blockade and calm tensions

Greater Noida West: Tensions flared at Eros Sampoornam society after a major electricity breakdown left hundreds of families without power for several hours. Frustrated residents staged a protest outside the society, accusing the management of negligence and poor handling of essential services.

The outage, which occurred during peak hours, brought daily life to a standstill. Lifts stopped functioning, water supply was disrupted, and common facilities became unusable. Many residents, especially children, senior citizens, and patients, faced serious inconvenience due to the prolonged blackout.

According to residents, despite paying high monthly maintenance charges, the society lacks a dependable power backup system. They alleged that repeated complaints to the management and maintenance team often go unanswered, leaving them helpless during such crises.

As anger grew, residents gathered on the main road outside the society and blocked traffic to draw attention to their problems. The sudden road blockade caused heavy congestion in the area, affecting commuters and office-goers returning home.

Local police from Bisrakh police station reached the spot after receiving information about the protest. Officers held discussions with the residents and assured them that their concerns would be conveyed to the concerned authorities. After negotiations, the protesters agreed to clear the road, and traffic movement was gradually restored.

However, residents warned that this was only a temporary calm. They stated that if frequent power failures continue and a permanent solution is not provided, they would be forced to launch a larger and more organized agitation.

The incident has once again highlighted the infrastructure challenges faced by high-rise societies in Greater Noida West. With thousands of families living in such complexes, residents are demanding stricter accountability from builders and management agencies to ensure uninterrupted basic services.
