A General Body Meeting (GBM) held on Sunday at Amrapali Golf Homes and Kingswood Society witnessed major unrest after a confrontation broke out between residents and the Apartment Owners Association (AOA). What was meant to be a routine discussion on society matters quickly turned into a chaotic scene filled with arguments, allegations, and protests.
The main controversy centered around a recently approved Facility Management Services (FMS) contract valued at nearly ₹1.5 crore per month. Residents questioned the decision-making process behind selecting the agency, claiming that more affordable options were ignored. They alleged that the chosen agency was expensive and would place an unnecessary financial burden on the 5,806 families living in the society.
Several residents accused the AOA of deliberately hiding important documents related to the tender process. When questions were raised about how the agency was selected, AOA members reportedly failed to provide clear explanations. Many residents claimed they were denied access to microphones and were not allowed to voice their concerns properly during the meeting.

Tensions escalated further when some residents alleged that AOA representatives used objectionable language against them. According to attendees, certain members allegedly referred to questioning residents as “thieves,” sparking outrage in the hall. This led to slogan-shouting and strong protests against the association.
Amid the growing chaos, AOA members walked out of the meeting without formally concluding it. In response, the residents present unanimously signed a resolution demanding the immediate removal of the ad-hoc AOA. They also called for an independent investigation into all major financial decisions taken by the current body, particularly the FMS contract.
The protesting residents announced that they would submit their resolution to the court receiver and the registrar for further action. “The society cannot function without transparency and accountability,” one resident said, expressing frustration over the lack of proper communication.
AOA President Raghvendra Yadav, however, dismissed all allegations as baseless. He maintained that the FMS agency was selected through a fair and transparent process and offers better services at competitive rates. He further clarified that only the Court Receiver has the authority to dissolve the ad-hoc AOA. Yadav also assured residents that all documents related to the tender process would be available for inspection from Monday.
The incident has left the society deeply divided. While residents are demanding greater accountability and clarity, the AOA insists that it has acted within legal and procedural guidelines. With both sides standing firm, the dispute is likely to move to higher authorities and possibly take a legal route in the coming days.
