Vikram Solar has won a significant order to supply 378.75 MW of advanced solar modules for a large renewable energy project in Gujarat linked to NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL). The project has been tendered by NGEL—also referred to as INGEL—the renewable energy arm of NTPC Limited.

The modules will be deployed near Nakhatrana in the Kutch district, a region that has emerged as a major renewable energy hub due to its vast land availability and strong solar irradiation levels. The supply forms part of a larger 600 MW solar project being developed by Indian Oil NTPC Green Energy Private Limited, a joint venture between Indian Oil Corporation Limited and NTPC Green Energy Limited.

Under the agreement, Vikram Solar will provide its high-efficiency N-TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) modules. This technology is designed to enhance power output, improve long-term reliability, and deliver better performance in utility-scale installations. Industry experts note that N-TOPCon modules are increasingly preferred for large projects because they offer higher efficiency compared to conventional technologies, helping developers maximise returns.

The company confirmed that module deliveries are scheduled to begin in the financial year 2025–26.

Gujarat continues to play a pivotal role in India’s clean energy expansion, supported by proactive state policies, established grid infrastructure, and a pipeline of large renewable projects. With this order, Vikram Solar further consolidates its footprint in one of the country’s most strategic solar markets.

Commenting on the development, Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of Vikram Solar, described the contract as a key milestone, marking the company’s first major engagement with INGEL in Gujarat. He said the order reflects Vikram Solar’s capability to deliver advanced N-TOPCon technology for large and complex projects and expressed optimism about building a long-term partnership to support India’s growing clean energy ambitions.

The win also signals continued momentum in India’s renewable energy sector, as public sector undertakings and joint ventures accelerate capacity additions to meet national sustainability and energy transition targets.
