Supreme Court has granted the Noida Authority one final opportunity to implement its earlier directions regarding the revival of stalled real estate projects linked to the Sports City development in Sector 150, Noida.
A bench comprising Justices M M Sundresh and N Kotiswar Singh issued the order while reviewing whether previous instructions had been followed. The court clearly stated that the authority must strictly comply with its earlier orders issued on November 24, 2025, and January 15, 2026.
The bench observed that the directions already issued by the court must now be implemented without delay.
In its earlier order dated November 24, 2025, the Supreme Court had approved a structured revival framework for the Sports City project being developed by Lotus Green Constructions along with consortium partners.
The framework allowed construction work to resume after nearly three years of stoppage. The court had also instructed the Noida Authority to lift the ban imposed on the developer within 30–45 days, subject to compliance with certain conditions.
Under the revival plan, the developer was also required to submit a revised master plan within 30 days. The authority was tasked with reviewing the plan to ensure it remained aligned with the original Sports City policy guidelines.
Following the Supreme Court’s latest directions, the Noida Authority has now lifted the ban on the SC-02 Sports City project in Sector 150.
The decision was taken during the authority’s 221st board meeting, chaired by Deepak Kumar, Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner and Chairman of the Noida Authority.
The authority had originally imposed the ban during its 201st board meeting in January 2021, which halted construction activities across multiple Sports City projects in the region.
Officials also reviewed the conditional occupancy certificate issued for Sports City SC-02. The board instructed departments to ensure that all future decisions related to the project strictly follow the Supreme Court’s directives.
The Sports City development in Sector 150 was originally envisioned as a large mixed-use township combining sports infrastructure with residential and commercial development.
The project plan included sports academies, training facilities, residential apartments, and retail spaces, making it one of the most ambitious real estate developments in the Noida region.
However, regulatory action in January 2021 halted construction across all four Sports City projects in Noida. As a result, thousands of buyers who had invested in the development were left waiting.
According to estimates, around 20,000 homebuyers are still awaiting possession or property registration after work stopped on the projects.
The Supreme Court’s latest order is therefore seen as a crucial step toward restarting construction and providing relief to affected buyers who have been waiting for progress on the project for several years.
