Ruhe Leads India’s Digital Shift in Kitchen & Bathroom Fittings

With a digital-first approach, Ruhe is redefining how Indians shop for kitchen and bathroom fixtures, combining convenience, premium quality, and nationwide availability in a previously offline-dominated market.

  • Ruhe pioneers online-first buying for taps, sinks, and bathroom fittings in India

  • Offers seamless shopping experience with clear pricing, product info, and delivery

  • Wins Jury Award at ACETECH 2025 for innovation and customer-focused approach

Indian homeowners are increasingly seeking more than basic kitchen and bathroom fixtures—they want products that combine aesthetics, durability, and convenience. This shift has opened doors for digital-first brands like Ruhe, which is changing how fixtures are discovered, purchased, and delivered.

Founded by Kapil Gupta, a Computer Science graduate from the University of Southern California and former SAP Labs professional, Ruhe was born from a personal frustration during his own home renovation. Gupta encountered confusing pricing, limited access to premium-quality products, and a long chain of distributors. He realised that India’s kitchen and bathroom fittings industry was ripe for digital transformation.

The Digital Advantage

Traditionally, products like faucets, sinks, and shower panels were considered “offline-only” purchases. Customers relied on physical showrooms and dealer networks, and online buying was met with skepticism. Ruhe identified this gap and positioned itself as India’s largest digital-first brand for kitchen and bathroom fittings.

By operating through a direct-to-consumer (D2C) model, Ruhe has streamlined the buying journey, offering:

  • Transparent pricing and detailed product specifications

  • Nationwide delivery and service, including tier-2 and tier-3 cities

  • A seamless online ordering process that eliminates multiple store visits

This approach aligns with rising smartphone penetration and growing consumer comfort with e-commerce, proving that even traditionally offline categories can thrive online.

From Start-up to Market Leader

Since launching in 2020, Ruhe has rapidly expanded its product catalogue to include faucets, sinks, sanitaryware, shower systems, and kitchen fittings. By 2022, the fully bootstrapped start-up achieved an annual turnover of around ₹40 crore—a remarkable milestone in a short period.

To bridge the gap between digital convenience and tactile experience, Ruhe has also established experience centres and brand outlets in major Indian cities. These allow customers to see and test products physically before placing online orders, combining the best of both worlds.

Showcasing Innovation at ACETECH

Ruhe’s presence at ACETECH 2025, one of India’s leading architecture and interior exhibitions, underscored its market impact. The brand displayed its complete range of faucets, sinks, sanitaryware, and kitchen accessories, allowing architects, designers, builders, and homeowners to experience its products firsthand.

The event highlighted the brand’s digital-first ethos and culminated in Ruhe receiving the Jury Award at ACETECH Mumbai 2025, recognizing both innovation and a customer-focused approach.

Shaping India’s Home Fittings Industry

Ruhe’s digital-first model is redefining how Indians buy home fixtures. Customers now have access to a wider product range, clear information, and a simplified buying process that eliminates friction associated with offline showrooms.

As expectations rise for high-quality, trusted brands and convenient shopping experiences, Ruhe is leading the way by combining online accessibility with premium offerings and nationwide reach. The company’s approach signals a broader evolution in India’s kitchen and bathroom fittings market, where convenience, transparency, and choice are becoming the new standard.
