  • Official address to change to Gautam Budh Nagar

  • Weekly sittings in Ghaziabad to continue for public convenience

Ghaziabad/Noida: The Deputy Registrar office to shift from Ghaziabad to Noida has received formal approval from the Uttar Pradesh government, marking an administrative change for societies, partnership firms, chit funds, and RWAs operating in the region.

Currently functioning near the Guldhar Metro Station in Ghaziabad, the Deputy Registrar office will now officially operate from Noida. However, authorities have not yet finalised the exact location of the new premises in Gautam Budh Nagar (GB Nagar).

What Does the Deputy Registrar Office Handle?

The Deputy Registrar office plays a crucial regulatory role. It manages:

  • Registration and regulation of societies

  • Administration of partnership firms

  • Oversight of chit funds

  • Supervision of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs)

This shift is expected to streamline administrative processes for Noida-based societies and organisations, especially as Gautam Budh Nagar has seen rapid urban expansion and a rise in registered associations.

Shared Jurisdiction Since 2023

The Deputy Registrar post serving both Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar was created in 2023. Prior to that, society-related matters were handled from Meerut. With growing administrative needs in Noida, the proposal for relocation was sent by the UP Registrar’s office and has now been approved by the Governor.

In an official order dated February 13, Special Secretary Shiv Singh communicated the Governor’s approval for the relocation and the renaming of the office to reflect its new jurisdiction.

What Changes for Citizens?

According to Vaibhav Kumar, Deputy Registrar for Ghaziabad and GB Nagar, while the official communication address will shift to Gautam Budh Nagar, weekly sittings will continue in Ghaziabad to ensure that residents and office-bearers do not face inconvenience.

This means:

  • Official correspondence will now be routed through the Noida office.

  • Applicants from Ghaziabad can still attend scheduled hearings locally.

  • Administrative conditions from the earlier order remain unchanged.

The decision to shift the Deputy Registrar office from Ghaziabad to Noida reflects the administrative importance of Noida as a growing urban and residential hub. With thousands of RWAs and societies functioning across high-rise residential sectors, bringing the office closer to Gautam Budh Nagar is expected to improve efficiency and accessibility for stakeholders.

Officials have clarified that once the new premises in Noida are finalised, further operational details will be shared with the public.
