Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has made another major real estate investment in Ayodhya, acquiring a 25,000-square-foot plot valued at nearly ₹40 crore. This latest purchase is located near The Sarayu, a luxury land development by The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), marking Bachchan’s growing interest in the city’s premium property landscape.
The move adds to the veteran actor’s expanding property portfolio in Ayodhya. In early 2024, he secured a 10,000-square-foot plot in the same development for ₹14.5 crore. Earlier this year, the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Trust—named after his father—purchased a 54,000-square-foot parcel around 10 kilometers from the Ram Mandir, reportedly to build a memorial honoring the late poet. Additionally, Bachchan had previously invested ₹4.54 crore in a smaller plot within the Haveli Avadh township, close to the time of the Ram Mandir’s inauguration.
Ayodhya has emerged as a major hub for high-end real estate, especially following the grand opening of the Ram Temple. A recent study by real estate consultancy Liases Foras highlights that land prices in the city have grown at an annual rate of 19%, with expectations of further growth reaching 25% per annum by 2035. Key locations such as the Sarayu riverfront and the temple corridor have seen land values multiply over four times since 2020.
The House of Abhinandan Lodha, the developer behind The Sarayu project, has played a significant role in redefining land investment across India. Since its inception in 2020, HoABL has delivered over 15 million square feet of developed land and has more than 30 million square feet currently under development in markets including Goa, Alibaug, Neral, and now Ayodhya.
Amitabh Bachchan’s continued interest in Ayodhya reflects not only his personal ties to the region but also the city’s growing appeal among luxury investors. With Ayodhya poised for rapid development and spiritual tourism, his investment signals confidence in the city’s future as both a cultural landmark and a premium real estate destination.
